Go re-verify the small sub connectors, they may be reversed and that will cause this behavior. Not sure if JB3 also has a power wire but check that if it does.

Everyone is going to say this but really check the wiring until you can say you
are 99.9% sure it's right.

There are pics of all the stock wiring harness on n54tech.com DIY section.
After you're sure the wiring is right I'd scan it for codes and delete any
from the previous issue you had and try it again.

I'm sure someone else from BMS will chime in but thats about all I could say to
do right now.

You'll figure it out. Don't stress too much.
Also was this a pinout or PNP removal? If it were PNP should be much simpler. Just make sure
orientation of subconnectors is correct. The have arrows on them and pin numbers to match up
with the larger DME connector.

You almost definitely hooked things up wrong when you took the JB3 harness out. The small connectors are the easiest to get wrong. Make sure you put them all in correctly (the arrow on the connectors should point inward) and in the correct spot in the ECU harness.

Also make sure the harness is completely seated into the socket. Sometimes it might seem like its in but it really isn't.

If it is pnp then should be something simple but if it is pin-out take pictures of each side of each harness and email them to terry. I messed up when I put the pin-out in and did the same thing. It turned out that I had pin 7 and 8 as opposed to pin 6 and 7.

Biggest thing is dont stress, it will get fixed soon.

i believe this could be the problem, i had a little trouble sitting the large harness and it sat a little higher than the small harness but; since the slider thing locked in, i though it was fine.

will redo it when i get home.

Definitely recheck the harness as I can guarantee something is backwards/swapped or loose. Common mistake is to swap the grey and black connectors on the small subconnector.

If you lift the ECU a little bit while you lock it down it will make it seat properly. It is very easy to have it sitting just above the socket since the side of the ECU compartment gets in the way when the ECU is sitting in its normal position.

also you may want to try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after you check over your connections. After I switch chips on my JB3 it wouldn't fire up for anything. I didn't disconnect the harness so I knew that wasn't the problem. However, once I reconnected the battery a second time, it fired right up. Had a few ecu related codes though, including transmission.
