After months, of trash talking back and forth, and years of my buddy (Username: Klammer) owning the shiznit out of me at HPDEs, we finally did our first track day together in a while, and I finally earned some much needed and showed what our cars can do!

Awesome, very nice driving! Which tires were you guys running on?

My suggestion: install M3 front control arms and get some camber plates for -2.5 to -3 camber and you'll be able to squeeze out a few more seconds.

Thanks Christian I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, with the stock alignment. He's running Yokohama AD08's with -1.7 or so camber. MPSCs are Killer tires for sure. err... I think I need vorschlag camber plates, to be able to adjust my camber at the track. I'm at -.4 Driver side front and -.8 passenger side front. I'm running the 100 octane map, and after my gas tank started to approach mid way between 1/4, and 1/2 tank, I would go into limp mode after a really hard chicane. It would happen at the same place each time. The G forces the R compound tires can generate is probably causing the fuel in tank to shift almost entirely to one side, and the LPFP can't suck up enough fuel. It was code 29DC. However, I got to 1/4 tank after 4 full sessions. Our fuel economy is really great. There were 3 other E90 M3's there, and they all had to refill their tank after like 2 sessions. Their fuel economy, especially when tracking is terrible.

So you are basically running Cup Sports with less than -1 degree of camber on Koni's. LOL. That would be hell to control. Get a full coilover setup ASAP and you will be SO much faster (well guess it depends on how you want your car to drive but just my $.02).

Thanks Mike. I bought my konis, and LSD from you guys (Harold). I'm not really having any issues controling the car with the tires. Michelin just recommends -1 to -1.5 camber. I might just be doing buisness with you again for the coilovers lol

Nice driving. I run the same tires on my m3 with -2.8 camber front. After 2 days at WGI the tires looked great with even wear.
You run these tires with less than -1 camber and you liked it?
How did your front tires sidewalls look like?

Thanks. The sidewalls take the heat just fine. MPSC, and Nitto NT05s have sidewalls that can handle the heat without chuncking. I'm running stock alignment cuz I'm putting street miles on the Michelins. I'm just not a fan of -ive chamber. I picked up 5 solid seconds going from NT05s on that same track to MPSCs on the stock alignment, and I couldn't be happier. Picking up 1-2 seconds more by buying extra parts just to run -ive camber is just not an interest of mine at the moment. My buddies M3 that you see in the video, his Yokohamas up front are gone on the inside from running -ive camber so much (-1.7). 5-6/32nds on the center, and he has to replace the tires! Oh yes, and he has some mild chuncking, on the sides, even with running -ive camber!

As far as I'm concerned a tire can either handle the heat generated by tracking or it can't.

Thats great that they can handle the heat, but i think your car would handle better with at least -2.5 camber.
Your buddys tires got destroyed due to the wrong toe settings.
I run -2.8 with 0 toe on my 135i and m3 front and after 10K street miles on both, no problem.

Good to know, every bit of knowledge helps, as I'm still learning. Next year, I'll do Watkins Glen, Putnam, and Mid Ohio.
