I was wondering if it is worth it to buy oem brake pads and rotors or if aftermarket are just as good or better. If aftermarket is the way to go/cheaper what brands do you recommend for best performance and reliability? Thanks

Really cant go wrong with OEM pads and rotors, but Cool Carbon pads have had some great reviews as they are just as good if not better than OEM pads.

OEM rotors are fine but aftermarket offerings such as our Frenetik's provide OEM quality with extra features (slots/drilling/gold/black plating) at reduced cost.

As for pads, there are plenty of aftermarket offerings out there that provide better performance such as Stoptech, Porterfields, Hawk HPS...etc etc.

Depending on what aftermarket pad you get, they'll easily be better than the OE. The OE pads feel very week once you start getting into them. If you want something that will perform better, and give you much less brake dust, then Cool Carbon Brake pads are the way to go.

I've had great success with Axxis Ultimates in the past on my 350Z. I ran R-compounds for most of the year on the street, and with the increased grip afforded by those tires, the Ultimates still help up under aggressive driving. Low noise, and way less dusting than the OEM pads on my 335i. (haven't swapped my OE pads yet on this car though).

Are you going to be tracking the car at all?
