grinding noise from front wheel area?

I'm getting a grinding noise from the front wheel area whenever the car backs up & turn but no noise when it's going forward. Anyone had this problem?

This happens when the control arm bushings were out and start to move. The tire starts to rub against the inside of the wheel well. I would jack up the front end of the car and see if there is any play in the wheel.
