Just traded 07 328i for 07 335i = Questions

I bought the 07 328i over a little over a year ago and I kept going back and forth between modding it but the more time I spent on this website I just couldn't get over the fact that the 335i had so much potential. To me it almost felt like a waste to put money into the 328i, no offense.

The 335i has all the options I would want (minus the manual transmission)..

-I-Drive (Navigation) -Memory Seats
-Heated Seats -Logic 7

The list goes on and on....BUT i've noticed some differences that I thought to be kind of strange despite the fact that they are the same year

My 328I had curvy seats that hugged me in whereas the 335i has more of a flat seat. The headrests on the 335i also curve forward

The 335i for some reason has a little more cabin noise vs my old 328i, is it the sport suspension?

Other then that the payment differences were $120.00 a month and to me it was very well worth it. Let the modding begin!

If you have flat seats in comparison to curved seat bolsters, your 335 does not have the sports package

Sport Seats ( can be had in either 328i or 335i )

Non Sport

Since you have had both cars would you say a 328i is a waste of time if you can find a similarly priced 335i?
I was considering a 328i but coming from a 300HP G35 Id prob miss the power and have some regrets..

Im looking to purchase a 335i in the next month or two.

Congrats. But you should have gotten a mt and not settled for an automatic.

No sport package and no stick, those are the two best features on a 335i.

I don't understand who would knowingly (obviously the OP didnt realise) not have these options on a 335i...

Well damn...the non sport package option is eating me alive and no I wasn't aware. Should've done my research. In regards to the stick, prior to the 328i, I came from an 07 STI and before that 02 Z06. Would've been really nice but having the wife drive me around is pretty nice sometimes, lawl. But I just got married and I need a good car I can drive for the next 4-5 years. I really don't want to be driving a stick when the kid comes around and my wife has a Z4 so sometimes when the in-laws come over she'll have to drive the 335.

(sigh) These seats really suck ass.......anyone whom reads this.........these seats suck. And I was wondering why the 328i I had was so low and the 335i sat up so high. I guess that's what happens when you buy a BMW from a Ford dealership. Seller was clueless as well and the packages weren't listed on the sticker.

The 328i has pretty good grunt for what it is but nowhere near the 335i. Everytime I contemplated on doing a performance mod (intake, exhaust, etc) i'd usually just browse around the force inducted section and be a little envious of their gains. Not only that you're pretty limited to what you can do to it. Cosmetically you can do the same to it but deep down inside when you see a 335i on the road you'll be sorry. One year of envying others caused me to turn over the 328i.

I think coming from a G35 you'd probably miss the power. I don't drive it like I stole it but the fact that I don't have to get on it to hit speed limit on the highway makes me pretty darn happy.

Just make sure you get the sports package. Gahh........I really miss my damn seats.

Don't get a 3 without the sports package. You will regret not having the awesome seats.

Buy new wheels, seats and coilovers and you will have a sport package car.

No Sport Package, means no oil cooler in most cases.
This means extra $ when you want to go for a tune.
I got an AT but Sport Package was a must.
If for nothing more than the seats.

Quiksr20 I too came from a slightly modded g35. Test drive both the 35 and 28 and I'm almost positive you'll opt for the 35. The 28 felt a tad slower than my old g

You know what, I have an e90 at and no sport. The at was intentional. While I prefer an mt, given where and how I drive, must be an at to be a dd. As far as the sport package goes, I knew I was going to replace bumpers/wheels/side skirts anyway so aside from the seats it doesn't matter. I'm small/5'6" - so don't need the sport seats as much and don't take long drives. Was hoping to swap with bmw perf seats but that seems more trouble than its worth given I need heated seats. However, that was more for cosmetic reasons than anything else.

Why? I much prefer the auto. It hits hard enough in sport mode.
