Magnaflow 16537

Anyone running this exhaust system?

Likes/Dislikes?

Thinking about using this instead of the BMW PE because of price.

BMW PE is about $1000
Magnaflow is about $650-$700

Any insight?

I was thinking of it too until people mentioned it's not that much louder than stock.

+1. I like the PE sound since it's higher pitch and doesn't overstate a 230hp car, but it's so damn expensive. I'd rather get a Magnaflow + AA tune for the same price... I just don't know how it sounds and am concerned with drone/overstatement.

I agree...I prefer the PE but am not sure i want to spend $1000 for it. With around the same money i can get the magnaflow and tune.

I also do not want to have my BMW sound like crap because i went with the magnaflow.

Anyone with any info/insight please add

If i were to do it again, I would just have a custom exhaust made at a shop. Delete the secondary cats, res, and add a high flow muffler. At that point you can pick your tone by choosing the muffler. it'll be pretty much the same as my setup, but cheaper and maybe lighter.

Agreed, the guys at the muffler shop were like how much did you spend on this performance system?? (My BMW PE) They said they could of built me something with better bent piping 2nd cat delete with magnaflow or borla muffler with tips for 1/3 of what I spent. And could of played with mufflers till I found what i liked. Oh well next time

This is exactly what I did. At first I did borla muffler and res delete. Sounded AWESOME and I would do it again. Then I got Headers and got a Resonator put back in and now it sounds even better with more backfire.

The former of the two all said and done $420 (tips, res delete, borla muffler, labor)

Id take borla over magnaflow anyday. They sell the Borla Pro XS online for like $100 and its Stainless, a bargain if you ask me
