2006 E90 330i engine won't start (sound bit)
Hey guys,
Our '06 E90 330i isn't starting, it sounds like the starter is trying to crank but the engine won't fire up. Check out the sound bit link for the sound of what's happening. I'm assuming its not a starter issue, and the battery was just replaced a year ago (car electronics seem to work just fine), the water pump was also just replaced a month ago (1200 buck repair!). Has anyone had this issue? What do you think is the cause? I'm ultimately looking to see if it's a repair that I can do myself or if I need to send it back into the shop. Thanks in advance. |

thanks, a fuel pump replacement shouldn't be too expensive right?
i've dug around as well last night, and some people said they needed to replace their eccentric shaft (camshaft?), would the sound I have exhibit possibly a change to that too? from other threads, that repair is in the 1300-1500 range |

Yeah it could be a ton of things. Prob not the crankshaft itself but the crankshaft positioning sensor. Scan for codes otherwise you'll land up just throwing parts at it.
