Just got JB+

SO I just got the JB+ and want to install it sooo bad, only i'm about to take my car in to the BMW collision center to get the bumper and headlight fixed. Should I wait until after I get the car back to install it or does it matter since their not going to be messing with the engine any?

Your car is going to be out of commission, might as well hang on to it until its finished. At least thats what I would do.

Just wait. Why put yourself at unnecessary risk. Or just take it off before going to the dealership. Should take you 5 mins from what I'm hearing. I'm waiting for my JB+ to arrive so I can install it, so I feel your pain.

The first time will take you a little bit of time to figure out how to undo the clips. Once you figure it out it'll take a minute or so to do it again. My recommendation is to unplug the battery to do it. Takes a second and you dont need to wait for the car to sleep. No chance at throwing TMAP codes. Also, the easiest way to get it done is to use a penny. Slip it under the clip up towards you and than reach around the other side and pull it off. I cant wait to get mine back.

Hmm, TMAP codes. Thanks for the post, I just bought a BT cable. Thanks Burger Tuning!

Don't use a penny - more of a chance of breaking the clip because it's too thick. Use a USB connector instead - much safer and it fits perfectly.

I had no problems and came nowhere close to breaking the clip by wedging a penny under it.
