Timely tyre issue

Just about to replace my rear tyres when wifey noticed a MASSIVE screw near the wall of the O/S rear - makes a change from happening to new tyres.

Wierdly the tyre hasn't gone down at all but won't be driving it anywhere but to the tyre fitters!

Getting it laser aligned too - inner edge tyre wear has been a bit OTT.

What pressures are you running?

I'm still on runflats till they wear out and so far i have even wear on the rears.

From memory i think it's 3.0bar on rear and 2.7bar on the front. Which i think is roughly 43psi and 40 psi retrospectively.

My local dealer recommended 0.2bar over BMW recommended. Stopped the inside wear on my 335d rft's.

Briers - about the same as Ed (slightly over BMW's pressures for RFTs) - 2.3 bar front, 2.8 bar rears.

I do have weeny little moped tyres though... ;-)

A little off-topic but I've just put some air in mine, fronts should be 34psi but my front left was 11psi - can corner a whole lot better now

Well it's booked in for Wednesday at 11am. Tyre was down to 20PSi so got it back to 38ish with the compressor. Will it survive long enough to get myself there without the need for a recovery truck?!

Hope so!

Four HOURS in the garage today getting two new rear tyres and Hunter laser alignment. Ouch.

Can feel a major improvement though - the tyres were well out for both toe and camber!

However my one of the wheels has been kerbed (slightly) and I have no idea how - it wasn't wife, I'm certain it wasn't me but the garage pointed it out immediately and I can't see where/how they could have kerbed it. Just had them properly refurbed (proper OEM technique in a chemical bath, etc not a cheapo mobile van job) - ARRRGHHHHH!!!!
