Scratched my M tech bumper tonight :(
I pulled in to a spot tonight and scraped the bottom of my M tech bumper tonight.
I know it's not bad...and it is under the car. Wish my front sensors picked up the curb. I think I am going to try touch up paint and try to forget about it. Any other suggestions?

If it's in the bottom just forget about it and do what khaye1 said and move on. It will happen more eventually from dips at night or something. Mine has quite a bit now too and even one 1.5" x 1.5" patch on the bottom corner of the bumper next to the wheel arch (my mother did a u turn and scratched the curb :[, and then she yelled at me saying "why'd you make your car low!" -- it was stock sport suspension at the time lol)

Car is only 3 months old....I know I am making a big deal about nothing.
After being upset with myself about pulling in to far.....I'm already over it. Just bummed that it's the first scratch.

Yeah, that sucks. I was driving tonight and rubbed a bit I thought it was going to be the same thing. At least your first scratch is under the car, still sucks though. I would be pissed off as well but "O Hella BMW" is right, you are the only one who knows.

Yup, US car.... front and back sensors.
They seem to work really well on everything except curbs

painted of course!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA
OP, get over it, you will get MANY more in the next 3 months, count on it! Plan on respraying at the 1 yr mark if that concerns you! There is just no getting around it! Only thing you can try and do is add clear bra to the under side of the lip to help prevent it from scratching the lip! Maybe get like 10 of the cutouts made and replace every month or so! (maybe I should start selling them??????????) |

I am not a fan of doing the whole bumper due to the line on the hood it creates....but under the car would be nice and I would never see the line and it should cut down on the curb rash.

Get some 1 inch wide velcro and put the loop side on under the bumper right where it would rub. You'll need to replace after a couple of incidents but it could save your bumper's paint. Seen it on some Pcars with black CF lips not very noticeable on that at all.

1. Always park backwards when there is a curb.
2. Get a lip and replace it every couple of years. + it will look mean
