I change mine twice a year, or every 7500 miles, as I average about 15k miles of driving a year. |

Being lucky enough to drive two BMWs, once per year works out to around 7,500 miles on each vehicle. Tom |

fwiw, I changed out the factory fill early. Then another change. Both times I did a UOA. My UOAs tell me that under my own specific driving conditions that 10k on syn oil will be fine.

I do every 5k. It may be too often, but it's piece of mind.

I find it interesting that everyone who goes to Blackstone labs for a UOA comes back with a 10,000 mile OCI.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

If you change every 5k you might as well use non-syntheitc oil.

About every 7-8,000 miles. I use Mobil 1 synthetic. My friend has a modified 335i and we both change them at about same time at his shop. Takes about 10 minutes each. If you have some drive-on ramps or some good jack/jackstands and some metric wrenches and it might take 15-20 minutes.
