Might Go IB

after seeing and reading many threads about IB i now want to give it a try. my original intentions were to make my own cornerbox and i still might but my friend has a couple of pieces of 1inch MDF he said i could have from his old box.

are there any specifications on how to make an IB.
1 how to build the baffle
2 how to mount to seats
3 if i should even try considering my seats fold
4 do i just use a 15x15 piece across the back and mount the sub to it?
or do i go with what this Guy did

thanks

It isn't much work just to cut that square and cut a hole in it and then screw it against the back of the seat. Just do it provisionally and see how you like it. If you do you can make it look peeeerty afterwards! What sub would you be using?

Even though i only had mine for a few weeks with no EQ or anything it was lovely. For true bassheads you may want 2x12 or 2x15 but for just SQ a single 12 or 15 is perfect.

More surface area = less excursion = better sound!

So folding seats arent a problem. I can simply screw a 15x15 piece of mdf to the back of my seat with a hole for the sub and fire it through my ski hole pass with no issues? I want to do it right the first time...

Which Auras? I take it you took measurements to make sure those 18s fit? - I just screwed a 15 to the back seat and there is less than 1" clearance top to bottom.

Yes, my fold down seats have a metal backing. I need to have my armrest down for the bass to come through.

Cool! Is that a 12w3? - make sure you set a subsonic filter at around 25hz.

Google is your friend. On your amp it may be called infrasonic filter.

I'm sorry but I understand the filter but 25hz is so close to the bottom range of the amp.

If I put it between 50 and 0 I should be fine?

Like I said google it. Doesn't look like the amp has a subsonic filter, so be careful, especially with bass boost.

where do you think i should keep the filter frequency, and i plan on keeping the bass boost off since i read somewhere that it isnt exactly necessary when using a lowpass filter (low input). right now i have it set to 30 to see what it does and it seems to have a popping sound when i turn it up. This sub is supposed to be capable of 500 rms but do you think i may be over powering it?
