The car is definitely still OK in drive mode. My only "issue" is between the faster shifts and re-programing, when you take off at an "average" to "slow" rate in D, the car accelerates through the gears and almost feels like a CVT transmission. The tach bounces from 1750-2250rpm and the gears change so fast, before you know it, you are doing 40mph in D6. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it just feels a bit "unnatural" and it's not what I'm used to. Floor it in "D" and the only difference is the faster shifts (which mean you go faster)! Here is a quick and (kinda shitty) video I made trying to show how the software performs: Here is a acceleration video. I have the car in Sport mode so you can get an idea for how fast the car shifts:

How do you guys feel about Bear Tires in Miramar? I used them awhile back and they seemed to provide decent/cheap service?

...going out on a limb here...
I'm going to perform some major paint correction on my step-dad's Jet Black 2006 745i. Is there anyone out there who is willing to let me test out a Flex 3401, Griots, or Rupes DA polisher? I currently have a PC 7424XP, but wanted to test out any of these new polishers to help decide which to upgrade to...if and when ever I upgrade. I'm in 4S Ranch/RB but am willing to meet up or pick up.... Thanks in advance.

If you can leave the car with me for several days I would...lol. I guess it also depends on how much work is needed on your car. I have a full-time career, detailing is a hobby for me so I do it on the side.

The only way to remove the orange peel effect is to wet sand the entire trunk with maybe 2000grit followed by 3000 grit. Then hit it with a compound and polish combo like Meguiars M105/M205. I don't have any experience wet sanding so unfortunately don't want you to be my guinea pig...

Did you get it done? I've had it for a few months now and it's awesome. Good to know what gear you're in when in regular Drive mode.
