BlueTooth Compatibilty list ?

Where can I find a list of more up-to-date European Bluetooth mobile phones that are compatible with my E92 ?

The list on the BMW website is a tad aged. Don't even see half of those phones on the BMW website offered anymore by the phone companies. And the other sections in this forum are full of US carriers.

Would like to actually upgrade my old steam-powered Nokia (without BT) and try out my BT connection (not tried it yet).

Thanks ... but I have contacted my Dealer and the latest model quoted in their list for Nokia is a 6310 (!)

I've looked online and these are just not really offered anymore.

Looks like it is a complete lottery with the new phones.

I have just been given a Nokia 6111 from my work (temporary), but it cannot even see my car, and the car does not list it (both have BT activated).

Doesn't inspire me to get a nice shiny new phone if it won't talk with my car.

6230i works, along with Samsnung D900 / D840. Personally the best in my humble opinion at the moment is the K800i / K810i - These give full integration and they even make the ejector box for them.

Nokia 6230i works a dream and should be still available. I think any new model Nokia phone with bluetooth will pair up without problems. I also think that the current range of Blackberrys will pair.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I have been speaking with the guy who handles our mobile phones at work and he is angling to get me a free upgrade. Good guy.

I can't get my Samsung D900 to connect, it pairs with my car (E90 - 2005) but I can't make any calls or access address book. What could be the reason?

Windows Smartphone C600 works very well - contact list etc.

Even show signal strength with an add-on piece of software for the phone.

I have a brand new 318 M Sport Saloon on order which is due to arrive in the last week of May. I took a chance and ordered the £500 bluetooth option. I also have a Samsung D900 and am praying it works. If anyone can confirm this, it would be appreciated as the official BMW list seems outdated.

Well I think the D900 works as I have seen it on other threads, also I have a D840 which is basically the same software and it pairs up fine.

Just got the K810i and it handles it with no issues. Currently on the E46 Pro Nav and everything pairs, multiple phone book entries, and also text messages.

Got the snap in adaptor for it, and it charges it fine. About time BMW had an adaptor for an up to date phone.

I can only make the Samsung D900 "pair" with my E90 but nothing more. If someone else is using this combination please let me know if you had to do something additional to make it work as I saw alos in other threads people are using it without problems.

This is my fear. I may have to ditch my nice D900 and go back 3 phones to the 6230i, something I would not like to do if possible.

I have now taken delivery of my E90 and can confirm that the D900 works perfect complete with full functionality with address book and voice control. I am well pleased. I do not thinmk they offer a charging pod for the model yet but I am not to bothered about that. The only down side is that by having the bluetooth function switched on, the phones battery is not as long lasting.

All in all very pleased with the Bluetooth system.

I have a PDA phone, Orange SPV M3100 to be precise, it contains my 'life' and my 'brain'! Now I assume that there is no cradle available for this phone and that there may be compatibility issues. Is an alternate solution to buy a 'normal' phone with a cradle, get my phone service provider to give me a duplicate SIM card and then leave the phone permanently in the armrest of the car?

Stupid question # 1, If this works, with the ignition off will the phone then ring in the car when I am not in it??

My boss and I have similar phones the Vodaphone 1605 VPA. My boss runs an X5 with Bluetooth. In his previous 750 he had a built in phone and had a second sim but it was not without problems, you had to remember to switch between phones, it was not automatic.

Regards

Chris
