Am I reading that right, you can order the competition alloys- as fitted to the m3- from the dealer?
Would they fit a 335i coupe?
The CSL wheel has a rear offset of ET27.

It would be fine on a E90 as this thread demonstrates, but as pointed out previously it would undoubtedly rub (under load, with rear passengers) on a E92.

You could of course take a gamble, but you don't have a E90

looks great, and every time i see someones e90 with csl's it tempts me to do the same but i have one question - when you swap wheels do you have any issues with the tyre sensors ? does it set the warning light on the dash off if the sensors themselves have gone with the original wheels, what happens ??

That system works via the ABS sensors, there are no actual sensors in the wheels..

No problems with sensors! - the puncture symbol flashes on the screen but you can reset it as you would after pumping up a tyre! No bother

I think you are confusing CSL/M3 CS/E92 M3 Competition

Original CSL wheels cant be ordered without a VIN afaik

M3 CS (E46) look the same but arent as light and not as wide

Competition wheels ala e92 M3 cant be ordered without VIN too (again, afaik)

Even if you need a VIN, just go to any new / used showroom and write one down from the windscreen of the right car.

Then walk round to parts and order what you want.

Hardly rocket science....

I am not speaking for Doughboy, but.

This happens all the time, very common, even the Dealer Principle at my dealers, has an M3 VIN's "on file" he uses to "sweeten" deals, and for "certain" customers !!

Parts Departments have targets the same as every other department, so on many occasions turnover wins over "exclusivity".

What would be the ideal offset for an e92 on standard sport suspension as i am currently looking to get some new wheels but don't want any rubbing issues

Et35 seems to be the offset of choice for e92s. Hotcoupe has a great example and pretty sure he said he runs et35? - EDIT: just clarifying that is et35 for both front and rear! - have a look at the thread for the CSL group buy from BMautosport, some good offset discussion there should help you make your mind up!

Fair point - never thought of that! Why would they refuse a potential sale of >1k over the head of keeping CSL/M wheels "exclusive" as you say

Ideal offset for staggered 19's (8.5" front and 9.5" back) on an e92 is et38 front and et35 rear. But any offset between 35 and 40 will go straight on with no problems front or back.

I've just joined e90post today and so glad to read your report. I also just placed an order with Mark at BMautosort this morning for a set of 19" CSL style alloys with et27 rears after. I've gone for the Shadow Black or Hyper Black and getting them fitted next week... can't wait after seeing yours!

Thanks mark, I'd looked at the shadow black wheels too-lovely deep concave in them! They'll look great! Make sure and post some pics when you get them on!
