orionredwing Detailed: Montego Blue 335i

I did a full detail this past weekend to prepare for my engagement photo shoot at Laguna Seca. It was actually my fiancee's idea. We wanted to do something different from the usual romantic beach overlooking the Golden Gate bridge type of theme. Here are some pics to share. I used Meg's UQD between sessions to try and keep things fresh, but there is a layer of dust on the Laguna Seca shots. And lots of brake dust obviously Just hard to tell from far away.

Products Used:
Flex XC3401VRG Buffer
Clear Kote Clay & Lube
Menzerna SIP (areas that needed it)
Menzerna PO106FF
CG EZ Creme II Glaze
CG Jet Seal 109 (2 layers, 12 hrs apart)
CG 5050
PB's Wheel Sealant
303 Aerospace Protectant
Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer

Total Time: 12 hrs (2 days)

More Laguna Seca pics here if you're interested:

haha, it sure looks that way in the pics, but she had her fun moments. All the pics were taken by her, and she even convinced the flag worker at the start line to let her up there to wave the flags and take some pics.

So she had fun waving the checkered flag for one of my sessions. I was screaming by on the straight, looked up, and was like, wtf! That's my fiancee waving the checker. My instructor and I were cracking up.

A few guys in my group also stopped by afterwards to say hi after they saw that. Was fun.

Amazing detail and outstanding photography, such a pleasure to look at. What were your overall thoughts on the products used? Looks like LS was a blast. Congrats!

I recognize that track.

How often do you go?

Like the corkscrew, huh? We gotta get a group of e90post people to go.

S4to335i, wanna lead the group?

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys.

The results using these products were really amazing. I finally got the extreme pop that I was looking for, and that I couldn't achieve w/ my earlier products by hand:

Menzerna FPII
Menzerna FTG
PB's EX-P Sealant

My first detail using the above products didn't give the darker, extreme gloss and reflection that I was striving for, and I was secretly disappointed by the results by hand (it looked clean, but flat). But after consulting w/ George @ Detailed Image, I decided to go all out by purchasing the products listed, and these pics are the results.

The Flex is very easy to use, and Jet Seal definitely looked better than PB's EX-P. Check out my earlier comparison thread here:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139220

Menzerna Super Intensive Polish (SIP) yielded great results, but as other people have mentioned, it dusts HEAVILY. It was a bit annoying to have the entire garage floor coated w/ white dust...you have to be careful not to be lazy and track that white dust into the house by not taking off your shoes. Not sure if there's a way around it?

I was really amazed at how thinly CG 50/50 applied, and I couldn't believe how little product I used to cover the entire car. It went on very smoothly, and was super easy to remove. In my earlier comparison thread, I did not apply CG 50/50 after Jet Seal. For this detail, I noticed that 50/50 seems to enhance the already good gloss and reflection of Jet Seal, deepening it for a greater pop.

Overall, a list of winning products I'd recommend to anyone, and definitely the ones I'll stick with for the long-term.
