You mean Parkview BMW on Leslie Street? If not, can share the shop info so I can contact them? I am usually travelling for work so should work for me.

Based on your link, I checked with the vendor and we may be able to set up a group buy for this. From what I see on this thread, we have atleast 10 members who have asked/shown interest in getting this done.

Group Buy Details:

What is included in the Group Buy:
  1. Walnut Blasting of Intake inclusive of walnut media, labor, and new intake gaskets
  2. Before and after pictures
  3. Possiblity of Service Loaner (first come - first served so availabililty will depend on when you book)

Price:
$400 + GST/QST (- 15% Discount @ $60) = $390.xx

$75 Deposit from each member (directly to Vendor but at this time details are TBD).

If interested let me know (or better yet update the list below).
  1. BavAddict
  2. Group Buy Member # 2
  3. Group Buy Member # 3
  4. Group Buy Member # 4
  5. Group Buy Member # 5

Thanks everyone.

Count me in for the walnut blasting! I was considering trying to go to Montreal or Toronto for this, but would much rather go local!
Do they have experience with BMWs or just VWs?

I'm interested as well if I can get a loaner. Decided against driving all the way to Toronto...

My name is David Gelinas and I am the owner/president of OttoStadt MotorWerks.

I am rarely on forums by lack of time but found this thread after being in contact with the organizer of the group buy.

A bit about us; We are a European only repair shop situated in Aylmer Qc, 10mins away from Champlain bridge (island park drive) on the Quebec side. I have 6 loaners available - 1 is included no charge for members that will be participating in this group buy. We perform walnut blasting on the x35 series engine 3-4 times a month currently without counting the VW/Audi 2.0T (FSI and TSI) that we apply the same procedure to.

Our clientele is 40% VW/Audi 30% BMW, 20% Mercedes-Benz and 10% exotic (mainly Porsche and 1 Ferrari)

Although my initial training is in Audi and VW (dealer trained from 1999 to 2012) I invested heavily in tooling for BMW over the course of the past 2 years as I had a big demand to service the brand, including (but not limited to):

- Autologic diagnostics scanner with BMW and Porsche support (full coding and flash capable up to 2015 cars) soon to add Mercedes FYI
- Hofman Quadriga FA-1000 fully automatic touch less tire machine and matching balancer (33k$ tire machine/balancer combo)
- Hofman 670-XD touch less laser alignment machine with weights to align BMW vehicles to BMW specs
-OE tooling to perform walnut blasting

We are a small 3 employee outfit ran by yours truly. Hope this answers some questions you might have.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me via email, I do not monitor private messages or replies here unfortunately : david@osmw.ca

Anyone interested in a set of DTEC H8 LED ANGEL EYES V7 64W?

It comes with 4 ballasts, I know for sure one is broken but the actual led units work.

Before I took them out, the one light suddenly wouldnt work when the headlights came on, but they worked perfect when the headlights were off. This just started happening when I switched them out.

Willing to trade them for a couple of Mann/BMW oil filters for a n52 3.0L.

The lights cost me over $180US. But they are kind of glitchy so thats why Im getting rid of them for cheap.

I can help you install the lights too.

I'm located in Barrhaven.

Any of you guys have the dreaded throttle actuator issue/idle control value issue?

Crazy xmas lights, read the computer and got the below. It goes into limp mode as others have described, and the catalyst seems to be if I hit a bump/go through some heavy pot holes. It's not every time, but I've noticed the cause and effect reaction to a bump and those lights. Again like others, they go away if you cycle engine on/off. My codes don't report a actuator..(I think) so I'm wondering if it's just a sensor.. or.

Managed to get there but rim that had tire blown also had a hairline cracked. So instead of risking it, its now off to AWR in Stittsville.

Hi All:

Looking to get some feedback on Bilsteins B8s or B6s and get a review/perspective from local folks. I recently had purchased some Koni Yellows from a member on here but turned out I got screwed when I was told my Autovation that one of the rears were shot.

I can get Koni Yellows or B6 or B8, but after seeing failed Koni I am thinking more about Bilsteins, but just cant decided which one will be better for comfort and keep same perf as my OE M Sport suspension which using the OE springs.

Anyone out there who has Koni Yellows, B6, or B8's on their daily driver and give me their two cents on how they feel about them from both comfort and handling perspective? I am usually spend time driving in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto corridor and see everything from snow storms to ice rinks.

Thanks.

On my previous car (2010 BMW 335i Coupe), I replaced all the shocks with Bilsten B6 (HD). It felt slightly better than the stock dampers which were the OEM sport suspension. The stock suspension was way too crashy feeling and stiff for the wrong reasons I found.

The Bilstein B6 are made to work with the OEM sport suspension. The B8's are only if you have lowering springs.

Thanks for the feedback. That's a setup i.e with B6 HD I will be considering, although I am now giving BMW Perf Susp a thought as well since I can get it just around 1200 mark with springs and sway bar.

Dealer price is $1226 and someone I know gets a 15-20% off.

However, as of today things changed and KONI's were tested and yours truly was proved be d*&ba$$. So KONI yellows it is and for now I will run them at full soft.

Any one has experience with Yellows? Speak now!

Thanks!
