optimum volume level iphone/head unit?

is there any consensus as to the best iphone volume level and head unit volume level that will give the cleanest sound from the speakers?

i have noticed a difference in volume and more importantly the "adjustability" of the volume (for lack of a better term) depending on how high/low the volume is on my iphone when using Bluetooth/lightning cable

any thoughts?

thanks

If your going into the AUX 3.5mm port I have best results with the volume in the middle on the decks AUX VOL setting and be sure to NOT use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm wire but rather use a DOCK to 3.5mm cable.. You do not want to go from headphone to aux, I cannot give you a good recommendation for that.

If your on an iPhone 5 or above you'll also need an adaptor like this :

This will give you way better sound and wont cost more than $30

Curious. Why wouldn't you just use the lightening to USB? I've never used the 3.5mm jack. All works very well.

Ahh yes I assumed you didnt have USB when you mentioned AUX... If you have the USB port, Lightning to USB is the way to go 100%

+1. You can get a dock to aux cable that also has a USB to charge it. With a regular aux cable I think it's best to have the volume all the way up on the iPod or iPhone.
