Well, I told all of my family and friends that if Auburn (my alma mater) beat Texas A&M (and Johnny Football) last weekend that I was going to put an orange rally stripe on my car. We are now 6-1, second in the SEC West behind Bama, and looking really good on both sides of the football.

Everyone thinks I'm nuts, but...I wanna do this thing to show my support for the team, especially as we approach the ultimate game...the Iron Bowl...against Alabama.

Whadyathink? I designed it after studying rally stripes on various cars for a week, especially the Mini Cooper.

(Yes...it will be done in vinyl and removed after the bowl game that we are now eligible for.

)

i like the idea of vinyl wrapping it to support your team. I would add team's name or something to the car too that way people dont think it's just a tacky modded bimmer (assuming that you care...

I'm not sure exactly why I want to do this so badly. I'm normally so anal about my car that I'd never consider something like this. Call it a wild hair brought on by the excitement of having Auburn blow everyone away this year with such a great team.

My first design was planned around a 14" AU magnet...something I could remove between games...to maybe prevent my car from getting keyed by some crazed Bama fan (which seems to be everyone's concern with me doing this project

). Not sure how I'll work that in now, but...in MY area, everyone will know what these colors mean.

Like the idea, but...not sure how that would work with the shape of the E92/93's hood.

follow the shape about an inch or two above the kidney grills on either side of the roundel.

Cool pics. Thought about doing the mirrors. You wrapped 'em yourself? How hard was that?

There are a couple of Auburn NASCAR cars out there that made me think about going crazier than I already am. But...the wife says I'm on a budget for this project.

Wrap the trunk and hood with orange. Then get a massive Auburn decal to put on the hood. Once you get sick of it in a few weeks, then you can take it off and all is back to normal.

Well...it certainly won't be the disaster it was last year. I have a lot of die hard Bama friends who are getting very worried. Let's just say I won't be shocked either way.

Tough crowd. If it's vinyl, and easily removed, I say go for it. Just don't leave it on for years out in the sun, or the paint will show the stripes when you remove them.
