Thinking about debadging.. don't know where to start.

Spot a few E92's around which are debadged and I must say the boot lid and back of the car looks really nice.

So I was thinking about it... but wouldn't want to risk it for biscuit if it would cause any damage or leave some kind of tan/ghost marks of where the numbers once were.

Any tips or advice muchos gracias.

Mate de badging is probably one of the easiest, cheapest and best mod.

I used an old expired credit card, blow dryer and some WD-45 to get rid of the residue left behind.

No marks left whatsoever

Wow!! Don't be using a credit card mate. You'll scratch your boot paint. Use fishing line or dental floss. Pretty much you'll be sawing it off with a nice not scratchy material.. heat gun and some tar remover when you done. ^^^^^^^this post is what not to do. You'll never see a pro do it this way so you shouldn't either.

As Mr Rauf said, it really is simple! If you search there are plenty of DIY guides and videos for this, makes the rear look much cleaner in my opinion.

Mines an E91, but you get the idea

The rear looks perfect to me, no scratches left or anything.

Just make sure you use the force of the credit card towards the badge and not the paint.

Honestly. For anyone interested. Please dont use a credit card when you can buy dental floss for 97p from tesco. I have seen far to many people scratch thier cars using cards to premote it. I have never walked into a body shop and seen a guy attacking a badge with a used credit card or similar. They use "cheese" wire and the sawing method.

I used dental floss then used my fingers to rub off most of the tape followed by soap and water to finish the job. Debadged looks really clean on 335's do to the dual exhaust. Nice and symmetrical

I also recommend dental floss.
I've used it when debadging all my cars and have never had a problem with the paintwork.
Would also advise you to use a hairdrier to heat the badge and soften the glue up first.
Quick polish once you're done and jobs a good'un.

It doesn't matter what you use!
The key to not damaging it is to simply be careful.
What ever you use just carefully place it behind the edge of the badge and pull towards you without even touching the paintwork or levering off it.
Ive used all sorts of things over the years and never had a single scratch

Agree with others, don't use a credit/card of any description. Personally I used these for removing the badges from the wagon:

Hair Dryer
Dental Floss
Tardis
Meguiars #105 Ultra Cut Compound
Meguiars #205 Ultra Finishing Compound
Meguiar's G220 v2 Dual Action Machine Polisher

Soak behind the badge with Tardis and then use dental floss or fishing wire to saw off.

You may need to reapply Tarids once the badge is off to remove any further glue residue.
