Best/cheapest place to get a Valentine V1?
i'll be purchasing a V1 in a very near future and was wondering what would be the best and/or cheapest place to get one.
if i get one on eBay, does it matter how old it is, meaning, are there build differences like with E90s (pre-september, post-september builds) that i should be aware of? or is it pretty much the same thing across the line? are there any discount stores that carry them for cheaper than from their website? thanks!

The best place to get it is through their website. It is $400. On eBay, some auctions for USED ones go for MORE than the price of a new one...crazy!
You can get lucky sometime on craiglist, but make sure the deal is local. Too many scams on there. All version within the last year should be up to date, as because I bought my v1 in November of 2004, and checked the serial number, and it showed as the most up to date version, before I sold it. They also maintain value if you decide to resell it. I bought it brand new for $400, sold it for $350 (could've got more, but I wanted to get rid of it fast to compensate somewhat for the crazy spending I've been doing on the 335i). |

i'll do some research and let you know.
how old is your passport? $300 seems a bit high considering you can get a new one for $339.

I even sold a used one, about 4 years old, for $30 less than a brand new one, and bought a new one. Turns out some of the older models have some benefits you can't get with new ones. The fear of POP radar has faded away, and the new compact design has taken away some of the quality. You can find info on this on other boards. |
