For some reason the airconditioning display is dimmer when you first start the car...then after a min or two it is back to normal brightness. I guess this is due to the engine having to warm up before it actually starts working...?? any other ideas. I noticed this on my 330 and the 335.

The NAV is really bad when it gets cold. Around 0 degrees, it's so dark until the car warms up that you can't really see it. It's probably a property of LCD's. Same thing happened in the A4.

Also when you switch screens, the image stays for a bit and then fades away. If this is happening, it's too damn cold out. Stay inside and call in sick..

Uhm, I belive that most (if not all) automatic gearboxes have this feature. Except that in the 335i, you get thrown into the backseat when doing it

Then it needs LCD heaters!
Aircrafts with LCD displays even have heaters to warm them up when it's really cold out...the latest types don't really needs one due to improvements but the early ones do.

If you only turn on the fog lights with the button, and the light switch is in the Automatic position, the low beam headlights will also come on regardless of ambient light conditions.

This only works for me when putting my ear up to the right side dual exhaust pipe.

I just found out one thing that when I put it in reverse, the side mirrors will move and face down a little bit so u could see the rear end of the car, it will go back to normal if u put it in D. Anyone notice it?

Didn't see these two.

1 When you flash the high beams only 1 light is used.
2 If the door isn't closed fully (seatbelt stuck in door) it won't lock.

Could just be mine.

Here's how the headlight high beams work if you have Xenons:

Pull back for flash-to-pass, the halgons will come on (quicker flashing and harmless)

Push foward: Shield in xenon headlights retracts allowing full output to be released foward (that's why the cutoff is there when the low beam are on and the shield is blocking it)

If xenons were used in the high beams flash-to-pass, they would have a shorter lifespan due to flashing and a longer warmup meaning they would need a few cycles or a short time of staying on to get full output.

I like the BMW's flash-to-pass feature, it works good and very easy to use on those idiots cruising in the left lane when the 2 right lanes are empty.

I don't know why my first car ('99 Z28) didn't come with the flash-to-pass feature, the headlights have to be on for it to work and I'd have to double pull the high beams to flash it like: pull once to turn it on, pull again to shut it off.

I know one guy used a caddy headlight flasher and fitted it in his f-body but after reading about it, the steering column has to be dropped and the stock flasher is riveted into place which needs to be drilled out, plus splicing the wires and attaching connectors to it and using screws/bolts/locite to resecure it and put everything back together (too much work to make it worthwhile unless the key cylinder is getting replaced for broken VATS wires)

besides the turn stalk is weak and feels like it's gonna break off...oh well it's all good now since I commute before sunrise and get home a hour before sunset.

It is called a kick-down switch. What it does is at wide open throttle it will down shift to the lowest possible gear (without going over the redline) in order to achieve maximum acceleration.
Very cool I love it and I probably use it almost every day.
