F30 Nav - Conversion Kit for E9x cars?
Hi -
Wondering if the experts from the conversion/retrofit teams have begun any work to port over the new F-series Nav kit to the e9x cars? It seems like there's a lot of exciting updates right now around on the BMW infotainment front - especially for a driver with just a simple CIC Nav system (no combox)! That said, I'm trying to figure out my upgrade strategy -do I do combox and forgo the new Nav? Does the new Nav require a new combox module? Maybe I do new Nav, no combox? What does eyes free mean for BMW...is that yet another upgrade in the mid-2013 timeframe? So lots to consider, just wondering what others with E92 are doing... -Kevin |

E and F series utilises COMPLETELY different types of communication messaging systems and principles. There is no straight way to connect or use any F-series CIC kit (older CIC or newer NBT) with E series chassis.
Currently we are doing some research and development with the idea of using newer NBT in the older chassis, however we are not yet ready to share our findings and developments in this area. If you would like to have more informaiton on your particular case, please email us and we will be happy to provide you with information on upgrades available for your vehicle. info@bimmerretrofit.com Thanks, Kate. |
