Bumper Painting Shop/Person?
I had an incident while driving a friend's 00 RX300. Long story short, it needs a new rear bumper. I ordered one for cheap and it came, excellent condition, but it is a different color than the car.
If anyone can tip me off about a good place to get this painted in the tri-state area, I'd appreciate some contact info. I can supply paint if it's an issue, but it'll need to be primed, painted, clearcoated. Would really be appreciative if someone has a contact at a bodyshop that can paint when business is slow or off the clock for some extra cash. Looking to spend about $200-300 for the rear, possibly another $150-200 to do the front at the same time. Of course bumpers would be off the car. Please let me know, 631 751 5551 Genya Y. Thanks for the reply...MAC wants ~$500 (very rough, though I suspect it won't be much cheaper), and the shops I've called haven't given me quotes much less than that. I'll be driving around some local shops on sat. as I feel I'd be more inclined to get a better price by talking to paint guys/owners.
I had one member pm me (worked in a shop) but hasn't replied back...some of you must work in body shops or know someone that does and want to make a few extra $$$ and help me out at the same time!? I'd ideally like to get this done next week...let me know if you or someone you know can help! Thanks! |

Tony's Body Shop
81 Main Ave Elmwood Park, NJ 07407-3203 (201) 475-3005 Paid $200 to have the front bumper on my e46 m3 resprayed. It was a fantastic match. But like others said, you get what you pay for. There was a slight bit of rushed work that you could see, but its my track car, so it was not a big deal.

Thanks for the replies guys..I'll look into the above places tomorrow morning.
I'm not looking for a perfect job -- it's an 11yo, 180k mile car and spending $500 is a bit unreasonable (I'll be doing quite a bit of maintenance on the car as soon as this issue is taken care of). As long as the paint matches and the clear will stand up to a few more years of daily use, it's all good. I'd still like to check out a few local places before driving out to NJ...anyone know of a good shop or two on LI? I'd like to drive around the island on sat. morning before committing to a shop further away. |
