Exhaust question
Thanks to Woosh, picked up a vanguard performance ss exhaust (+1000 Woosh dude)
Came off a 335 coupe apparently but I have no idea if it will fit If not then Ill have some great stainless pipes for garden ornaments Is anyone running this set up? Any idea how loud it is? drone or rasp? Will the 4" tips fit a standard rear diffuser or will I need to buy a custom diffuser? Mid section is currently fitted with a H pipe, should I get this changed over to a X pipe as it would be heaps easier to do this before installing? Last edited by Socket; 03-22-2015 at 08:57 AM.. |

I've only come across guys in the US running this system - I cannot recall anyone local mentioning it.
I found a couple of threads about the system. Seems like it should install all right for you with an E92. The 4" tips should be a close fit for any single cut out on each side diffuser but should fit fine - I run 4" tips on mine and I only have the aero kit rear bar. Seems like these systems are on the loud end of the scale, even though the sales blurb says otherwise. Will be even louder if you have catless DPs - see this > http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363671 and http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=479745 I cannot quote scientific evidence but from material I have come across in the past about exhaust systems, x-pipes are supposed to balance the pulses between the two sets of pipes and aid the scavenging of the exhaust gases through the system. The x-pipe is more expensive to fabricate but is efficient in that it promotes smooth exhaust gas flow. The H pipe is there more so to balance the two sets of pipes (I have seen it refereed to as 'balance' pipes ) more or less does the same thing but is less efficient and less expensive to build into an exhaust system. If it were me, I'd get the x-pipe done and have the system installed seeing as you've already got it. If the dollars were a concern, just get it installed as is and then decide where you go from there.
