M57 Boost Gauge

Wondering if anybody in here knew if we could run a boost gauge in the 335d to just watch the boost. I still have my RIXster boost gauge from my N54 335i.

Figured it would be fun to watch when, how high, and how long the boost runs while driving around.

Any tips or suggestions if there is a way to tap boost pressure on this motor?

Guess we are out of luck? Anybody know which hoses have boost pressure in them?

Be nice if we could get this on the dash somehow without having an aux pod/controller.

Yea. Drove around the block. One of the lines was crushed from install on my 2007 335i so that might be it as well.

Has anyone figured this out yet? I have a free boost gauge coming my way and I'd really love to install it!

I dont know if it is possible. Every line has vacuum that I was able to find. I may just sell the gauge and pod.

Did you check to see if there were any vacuum lines running directly from the turbo?

I know where we can tap for an electric boost signal, but I guess thats not gonna help anyone.

Anyone have a bav tech cable. I need to find mine. But I know on the n54 it gave a boost readout. It's on a laptop but still. We can put to rest debates of how much boost the D runs. I shall look for mine.

1) where can you tap for an electric boost
2) can you tap fitting 10 in this diagram?
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...25&hg=11&fg=45

Edit:

Fitting 10 is in two places: One on the aft side of the motor tucked back under the lip, and the other, at the front top of the motor. Is either of these places a correct place to tap?

Here's where you can tap into the MAP sensor.

@TDIWyse

Looks like I could use the n55 mode of the p3 gage to get a reading...think it will work? Then again maybe not? bc the 0-5v of the MAP sensor may not be indicative of the the same boost pressure between the n55 and m57?

If you could have a look at: http://www.p3cars.com/bmw-install and scroll down to the "Config..." section of the page and read the notes next to "Cal.B" it would be a great help. I know I am asking a lot but I am noob at this stuff.

Can you definitively say that neither of the T fittings I took pics of will read boost?

Edit: uploading Calibration instructionsP3_Vent_Gauge_Setup_Configuration[1].pdf

@ anyone
There has got to be a boost indication somewhere besides the large intake pipe???

From my short testing, all of the lines I tested were only vacuum. I assumed they set the M57 up in a similar way to the N55. No boost pressures in the vacuum lines. I ended up selling my gauge.

Can you confirm trying both of those T fitting locations?:

I wasn't aware of that...Why isn't our boost on the CANBUS like N55 then?

Do you think the MAP 0-5v tap would work as an alternative? Did you try it?

Too bad you sold the gauge!
