What is average price of Walnut blasting?

My local BMW dealer offers the service...quoted "about $800.00" and suggested I wait until 60 or 70k. I am still under 50k now. Just curious as to what others have paid.

I don't think I need it yet but plan on installing a tune, DCI and OCC and thought it might be a good idea to get that done first.

Thanks

That's the same I was quoted.... But just ended up doing a DIY with some B-12 Chem and gun brushes from Walmart.... Took me 4 1/2 hours from start to finish... So it's all about how valuable your time is

My time is valuable, but I would happily DIY if I had even a small amount of confidence in my ability under a hood. I have confidence in adding windshield washer fluid....but my skill set stops right after that....I will be paying for the service.

If you need to know how bad I am I could tell you about the experience changing the headlights out on my wife's Disco......let me just say that new trim parts need to be ordered and painted so probably a very expensive headlight. You won't see me posting in the DIY section...unless it is a picture of me sitting in a waiting area section with a cup of coffee.....and a lighter wallet.

$500 from a local race shop because they do it the old school way by cleaning it all by hand, not walnut blasting. Sometimes you can get lucky by a local forum member who does it. Got an estimate once for $300. Good luck as Im planning to do it now too since Im at 51k miles.

I charge $250. No reason this should take more than 3 hours, even the first time. I did mine at 37k and they were pretty gunked up.

I paid $600 including new gaskets at the stealership but I got a rental car for the day and got my car back with no hassles. Other local shops quoted $400 without changing gaskets which is about $60 in parts. So with gaskets would be about $460. The extra $140 for the rental car and piece of mind was worth it for me.

Thanks for the heads-up on VS. I sent them a message and my contact information through their web site. Would love to have found a great shop for non-dealer / non-CPO items. I am in MI but really not far from their shop.

e90TiAg335i did mine last week and he did a super job and his pricing is very reasonable! The whole thing only took about 3 hours. The throttle response is like night and day now and the engine pulls much harder. I highly recommend having this done.

Whoever is close to JAX you should definitely consider having this done by e90TiAg335i.

Is there a site that I can get them for cheap or should I just head down to my local dealership and pick them up?
