mmmmmm not a great departure from the current model. But will definately go in and have a look when the coupe comes out, by then I should be ready for a new one. The question will be do I wait until the tuners have some time under their belt first or drive stock for a year or so and then start the modding all again??????

After reading the brochure, tell you something else I don't like... EVERY model now comes standard with Auto STOP/START technology...

Yuk...!

Where's the cup-holders??? Invisible or non-existent??
The sales brochure states:

Larger pockets in the front doors, whose lines and surfaces open up towards the instrument panel, now have space for drinks bottles up to one litre in size. Added to which, two large drinks holders are now integrated into the centre console ahead of the gearshift lever. If desired, the cupholders can be swapped for an oddments tray, which is stored in a designated area of the glove compartment when not in use.

Cheers

Looking at the brochure again they are quoting 5.5 for the new lighter 335. AAAAhhhh my DCT does it in 5.4 chaps. Whats with that

mmmmmm don't know about that one.....

Lets assume they are conservative than the n54 DCT would also be conservative.

Just seems a little odd that they would bring out an eight cogger on a lighter car that is still slower than the old 7 cogger DCT.

As far as I am aware the 335 currently is only available in MT and DCT so why bring back the AT when the DCT is faster?

Here I thought it was being released in DCT...Why would BMW go back to AT? I haven't read the release specs yet, is it actually going to be AT instead of DCT?

well im going to say this... (not been in many DCTs)
but arent they a little jerky from a standstill? more expensive to repair/replace

although their shift speeds may be superior, that doesnt really matter in a commuter car... (was going to add something about gearing for SBC)

Sorry I think I have that wrong, just re-read the brochure and they use the term 'Sports automatic transmission' which is the same as that for the current DCT box. This is as opposed to the term 'automatic transmission' for the, well, the auto box....

But I still dont get it, as the new model is lighter and has an extra cog surely that would be more like 5.2 or 5.3, compared to the current model 5.4???

Its almost like they were about to release the new model and some sales chap says 'hey where's the sat nav screen', crickets, crickets, crickets everywhere

Maybe, just maybe BMW have put the new software upgrade that lags the car slightly (introduced currently on the e9x's due to fuel pump failures) so it can help prevent the fuel pump issues. I remember a few members who had there cars serviced and left with a slower vehicle lol, the dealers had to change back to older software after complaints.

Well they carried over the e9x engines to the f30....
Does this mean there is a possiblity of a new range of engines mid-way through the f30 life cycle?
