Retrofitting iPod interface to a 2009 e91 LCI, no iDrive...?

Okay, so we just got an e91 (rwd, manual ) for my wife. It does not have iDrive. I'm looking to retrofit the factory iPod interface that you control through the head unit.

I just bought this, which I believe is correct.

Is it? Where does it get installed on the wagon? Any mounting brackets I need to order for a 100% like factory installation? Coding tips?

Thanks!

Welcome to the e91 club.
What are the options on your e91? Does it have bluetooth?
You probably can get a lot better integration if you do the MULF2 retrofit. Search the boards and google 6FL retrofit for more info. If you don't know what options you have ask your friendly dealer to run the vin and print out the build sheet for you, or google BMW vin decoder.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122545 - this is for bluetooth but not much different than 6FL.

The car does have factory Bluetooth, yes.

What's the improvement in the one iPod interface over the other?

Reading online, it looks like the MULF2 is the combo bt/ipod interface box. Is there any difference in the iPod interface between the MULF2 and the MOST interface I bought?

It is just that an ipod adapter where the mulf gives you a usb functionality and you are not limited just to the 30pin ipod plug in the glove box. You get USB port in the center console.

Both have been been covered on the boards multiple times so now you need to have your do some searching and reading.

One more super quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to.

Once installed, with an iPod connected, is there any difference in the interface you interact with?
