they come with a hardwire cord, while its coming, purchase an "add-a-fuse circuit" (mine cost me $6 so I didn't care) and wire it to your fusebox. There are plenty of DIYs. I used my Homelink fuse.
You should like it! Remember to mount very high (close to roof), level, and straight for best performance. |

there's a DIY on here that wires the v1 using the sunroof. It all goes in that area, the v1 comes w/ a hardwire fused adapter. splice the wire, ground it, run the cord and put it together. simple as that. put the V1 right next to your mirror and you're good to go. out of sight and very clean. V1 is awesome btw, love mine |

Tap it to the sunroof wire in the headliner, there is a DIY on how to do it if you search around some.

I have mine hardwired and have an RJ11 coupler mounted at the top of the windshield. The cable to the V1 is plugged into one side of it and I have a short RJ11 cable that I run from the V1 to the coupler. When I remove the V1 I also remove the short cable and there is no wire left dangling. CA

I usually splice into the cigar lighter circuit since that's designed to be a power source. The lidded ashtray was good place for me to hide the V-1 display since I don't smoke.

If you are running the concealed display, then you will want to hard wire it into the fusebox since you will need to run the concealed display to the power source anyways. If not, you have the option to wire it into the sunroof control area. I personally like the fusebox location, so whenever you need to remove it, there is no trace that it was ever there, and you aren't spicing into wires. Plus, running the cord from the headliner, down the A-pillar, into the fuse box only takes a minute or 2, and there is much more room in the fusebox then the sunroof panel.

The concealed display is great. It basically shuts off the display on the main unit, and displays everything in the concealed display which you can mount anywhere. I mounted mine on the bottom right side of the instrument panel. It covers up part of the efficiency/oil temp gauge, so you can't see the numbers on the bottom, but you can still see most of the needle.
I'm not a fan of mounting the display so low, because every time it goes off you are taking your eyes off the road and looking down at the ashtray. I prefer it to be in general line of sight when I'm driving, that way you can keep your eyes on the road and still see the display out of your peripheral vision. |

....but for your unit to be useful it needs to be in a location that it sees both front and back. So either windshield or visor. Both in your line of sight. So you're going to not use the one in your line of sight and use a concealed display that you have to look away to see?
I keep mine on my visor with the windshield clip under it to keep it level. Its high enough that you cant see it from the outside unless you lean down and you dont really see it behind me with the tint and the fact that its high. I even even leave the volume pretty low because the lights catch my attention while driving. |

I have my detector mounted above the rear view mirror. The reason for the concealed display is so that people behind me aren't aware of my V1. Also if a cop is behind me, there is no glaring red light that tips him off. And pushing the mute button on the detector has a tenancy to knock the suction cup mounts off the windshield for me. Plus, the concealed display is only $40.

I have a remote display and I will try and take a pic of tomorrow
I have it on an L bracket off the corner of my instrument cluster and it doesn't block a thing but easy to see

Hardwired my friends jeep w one a couple weeks ago. She got the concealed display and made me put it down low. I told her she's a ratard cause it was totally outta view where she wanted it. Much easier to just glance up and look at the windshield then down low by the ashtray.
