JL XD700/5v2 Fader Question

Good morning!

Got my JL amp installed this weekend with my HiFi equipped 2011 E90. I'm using the Technics PnP harness. Channels 1 and 2 are driving the front mids and tweeters and channels 3 and 4 are driving the underseat subs. All drivers are stock. The fifth channel is driving a sub in the trunk.

I'm using the HPF on the fronts with BPF on the rear channels for the underseat subs. I'm using all 4 RCA inputs from the PnP harness going into the amp and the amp is set on 4 channel input mode.

I was really hoping with this configuration that I could use the fader on the stock HU to control the output level from the underseat subs, so I could change it with different types of music. However, the fader does nothing other than fade the subwoofer in the trunk.

Is this as designed or is there a way around this? I believe if I defeat the filter on ch 3&4 that it works the way I want, but the whole point of getting the v2 amp was to utilize the band pass. If this is just the way it is, I'll have to buy an external crossover I suppose.

Thoughts or ideas?

BTW, the stock underseat subs (crossed like 55-200) and the stock mids and tweeters sound amazing after this amp change!

Thanks!
Adam
