Ceramic Coating VS Heat Wrapping
Hi guys,
Deciding on what to do with my manifold and the other piping regarding heat proofing. Better to ceramic coat or Heat Wrap. Overall i know ceramic is better but also $$$ unless i DIY (which i am looking into) anyone done this? Heat Wrapping will look better IMO under the hood. But i heard that rust is a big killer as moisture can at the rust. But i was thinking to spray all the metal in rust proof paint then wrap. thoughts? thanks |

I've had factory applied ceramic flake off Hooker headers in 1 year. I've known guys running wrap on dirt track cars and it looks crappy in about a season. I've heard that wrap holds the heat between the wrap and metal and that super heats the pipe and causes fatigue. I would go with ceramic from Jett-hot or some other well known applier that offers a warranty. My failure was the silver and I think the black is more durable.
