F*** Reverse Rake !!!!!!1one!
I just installed my AluFelgen CSL reps and my 335i e92 ZSP looks like it's doing a freaking WHEELIE. My neighbour has an e92 328i with normal non-sport suspension and his car looks nice and even (same gap front and rear). Is there something wrong with my car?
BTW: They are 19x9.5 ET35 and they are rubbing the way my car is right now when I hit dips in the road. I just received Tein S-Tech springs in the mail and I'm wondering if I should install them or not (F 1.4", R0.6") with the stock dampers. I'm actually debating if I should install JUST the front. Is there like a suspension spacer I can install to raise the back a bit? What should I do? I really don't want to spend 1000$ on the suspension right now. Thanks!

Honestly I don't even think the perches are gonna be enough. It needs at least a 1" drop in the front. In the back no drop is needed...

Almost every stock suspension 335/M3 ive seen looks like this. I am pretty damn low in the rear and 4x4 up front as well, and im on stock 18s

Is so strange though my neighbours 328i non sport doesnt have this stupid reverse rake. FYI tires are 265/30/19 in the back w/ et35 offset 9.5" wheels. I'm really considering installing the front springs only

I know you already dismissed the front perch idea, but I put them in my car and it made the front and rear a lot more even. Here is a pic of it. I used to have the wheelie effect too, but I got rid of it when I upgraded to the BMW Performance Springs and supreme front perches.

and HybridForLife: I'm thinking about it but I just spent 2 stacks on my wheels and tires and now another stack for school semester... If I can get what I am looking for for 2x cheaper I will be happy.

Or, you could drop the front a bit, for free, very easily. I was going to do a separate thread on this with what I did to my car but here is the cliff notes version:
If you look at the strut there is a tab that sets how far down it is allowed to sit in the hub/carrier. Well if you look at the way the tab is shaped, the bottom and top parts are not physically attached to the strut body, only the middle 1/2 to 2/3 is welded. So I jacked the car up, supported the hub with my jack, undid the nut/bolt combo that squeezes the strut, and cut the tab straight across to the first part that is welded. It was very easy to do as the metal is kind of soft compared to other things on the car. then put my jack under the hub/carrier where the tie rod bolts and slowly started jacking upwards. this pushed the strut tube down and the hub up till it hit the "new" stopping point. Tighten the nut/bolt, and repeat on the other side. Measured wheel gap before and after and the car dropped a bit more than 3/8". it doesn't sound like much, but visually it makes a big difference on a sport package car. In reading through the thread for the Supreme perches this is about the same drop they are getting without all the work or the loss of suspension travel. I have 1500 miles like this with 0 issues. Well worth it. Last edited by therealm3; 05-06-2013 at 03:27 PM.. |

But why not just get the BMW Performance springs like I did? It rides great, handles well and looks great, what else can you ask for? @Bobbybmw22, MRR GT1 19x8.5, lip size 1 3/4" front, and 19x9.5 lip size 2 3/4" rear. http://www.mrrwheels.com/gt1.html great wheels for the dollars.

How much are the BMW Performance springs anyways? And how much do they lower the car by? The Tein springs I bought should lower it by 1.4" F and 0.6" R which is pretty much what I'm looking for. Actually I'm looking for 0.0"R lol

Shit! Numbnuts! I just realized your car is a 328i! 328i's don't have the reverse rake problem! Just like my neighbour doesn't have that problem! Your car is just lower with a front bias (good rake) because of the perches lol
