MOT for £24

I've come across a website that are offering an MOT test for £24. They apparently come pick up your car and deliver it back to you free of charge.

I think this is a cracking deal and with my MOT expiring in the next 2 months, i intend to book it with them. They state you can reserve your booking at this price for 6 months.

Here is the website: http://www.servicingstop.co.uk/mot.html

Anyone dealt with these guys before? Almost seems like there could be a catch.

You really want to let them drive your car?? They'll probably send some kid to drive it who will rag it all the way there and back...

I reckon they pull you in with a cheap MOT and then create work costing you more dosh.

+1 above

Hmm didn't think of that. I just assumed that they tow your car to their garage.

I always get my MOTs carried out at the cheapest place who are doing offers.

I however book an appointment and wait on my car.

So far my 3 MOT tests have amounted to £0 of work needing done. Another clean sheet a couple of weeks back.

I've recently booked my MOT for £35 @ main dealership which I thought was reasonable

Good deal, yet as above, I would rather pay more than have some little scrout drive mine. I mean you are only saving what 10-20 on that. Yes I am very precious about my babies

Book online at halfords autocenters - half price!

I've never had any trouble (neither has my family).

Days have gone where they fail cars just to get business! So go to the cheapest!

Certainly wouldn't let them roar around in my car to/from their MoT centre.

Definitely recommend Halfords though (having used them once).

Kwik fit online is similarly cheap and I've not had issues in the past

If you are concerned about being ripped-off with non-existent faults, go to a testing centre which doesn't do repairs. Local councils have MOT centres for their own vehicles and although they don't advertise they are required by law to take bookings from the public.
