Intakes - BMW Ever Complain?

Just wanted to know if anybody who has an aftermarket intake (ie. AFE Dual) has ever had an issue with BMW complaining about it or trying to make it an issue with their warranty? What has been the complaint? What would be the potential for such a product causing a warranty issue/problem with the engine?

Thanks.

If anything, I would think they would put some sort of a note in the system that you have them....and later blame you for any mechanical failures....even though intakes can't cause of that...

I've got the Injen intake on my 328i and my dealership is blaming it for my check engine light. I'm fairly certain they are full of it because they essentially told me they have "no clue" what is causing the check engine light since the car isn't throwing any codes but they think it's my intake.

I had the intake installed for 3 months (at least 5,000 miles) before the light came on so I'm pretty sure it's not actually related.

I have an afe intake in my car along with a borla exhaust. However just to be safe i always remove the intake before going to the dealer. i takes me about 45 min to change it. Better 45 min then a voided warranty

I think I should clarify my post above, BMW San Diego is not voiding my warranty or anything, they just told me they believe my intake is causing the car to run rich and unless I want to go back to the stock intake to be sure (too lazy) I'm going to have to deal with the Service Engine Soon light.

I've used two different dealerships over the last 10 years without any problem with intakes.

My car says it's running to lean and they blame it on the intake. LOL Sam here I'll just have to live with the SES light.

Funny they blame the intake for running rich and lean when one is to much air and the other is not enough. LOL

Another update to my posts above, just to make sure I'm not scaring anyone who is considering the Injen intake because it is literally the best ~$300 I have ever spent.

My Service Engine Soon light turned out to be caused by a faulty fuel pump which I finally got taken care of and the car is running great with the Injen.
