Help!! Was using INPA and car won't start now

So I totally messed up apparently. I was using INPA and became too comfortable perhaps. I was trying to get familiar with all the different options and menus and probably clicked stuff I wasn't supposed to. Now my car won't start. Everything seems fine and it turn over but no engine start. I really don't know where to begin. Any help would be appreciated!! Is there a way to load factory defaults or anything like that? Thanks in advance.

Update I was in Tool32 also trying to register my new battery and might and accidentally double clicked one of the other functions when scrolling for the battery registration. But I'm not completely sure as everything is a blur at this point.

Thats why i always sugested to pay even 50$ to someone who know what he doing , cause sometimes cost of repairing your car can be 20times as much :/ its really hard to tell whats your problem now cause we didnt see your inpa or any other programs.
Use teamviewer with some of us, or find your local coder to help you with it

There are some jobs in Tools32 would erase everything from ECU.

And once it is erased there is no way to recover?
Everything seems to work but the car won't fire, it just turns over.
I've got the the tow truck lined up for this afternoon and a reputable independent is going to fix it. I wouldn't think I did anything permanent software wise did I?

I was able to do all the other coding stuff no problem and got too laxed about it I guess. Big lesson learned.

So you installed a new battery I'm assuming? Did you plug in all 3 wires? Positive, ground, and the 2 pin wire?

Try to code your car with expert profile and process the car to default setting and see if it helps.

These tools are very powerful and could kill the car.

I dont think INPA is the culprit, but more so Tools32..Dealering it will be expensive for sure as they will probably tell you it needs a new module and coding for it.

yes, I installed a new battery. I don't remember a 2 pin wire? Have a picture?

How do I code to defaults with expert profile?

USe expert mode instead of the custom setup and go through each module coding as you would in the custom profile.

I got your PM but as stated above it will be hard for me to help since you could have clicked anything in INPA.

Don't think recoding to defaults will help since it sounds like the engine not firing would be a DME issue which NCS doesn't hit.

Is it possible the battery is dead or low.

Don't know if anybody already mentioned this , but its pretty common if you are working on the car an its an old or marginally charged battery. If its a new battery it doesn't necessarily mean its good or charged. I say where one guy disconnected the ibs cable to get his car started.
It couldn't have been put in transport mode could it.

I reset all the modules using expert mode. Still won't fire. I tried activating transport mode using INPA and it would not activate. What a bad day. I'm sure it was something I did in tool32. I was tapping the menu scroll bar on my lap top to get down to the battery registration and double tapped one of the programs. I have no idea which one it was. Is this fixable by a shop without purchase of new hardware?

It would be better to take it to the dealer and don't say anything about your tool32 coding experience.

Unless you know exactly whAt you did it will be difficult to fix or anyone to help you. Even the dealership is going to be troubleshooting it forever and best to let them know what you did so maybe it can save you some money so they don't have to waste time troubleshooting items we know is not the issue.

+1. Honestly you could have clicked any functional job in that list.
Why not go through the entire list and try translating as much as you can.
You may find a clue there and be able to fix yourself.

Flatbed just picked it up to take to the indy shop. This will be one of those "what did you learn" experiences.

I'm just really irritated with myself because I got so hung up on the battery registration. I was able to do all the other coding I wanted with no issues. I'll still code with NCS but I'll never open that damn tool32 again.

Tool32 is for the very very experienced just like winkp. I would not even go near them ever. I hope you get this fixed with the least amount of headaches and money. Sorry to hear of your experience

Update us when the shop finds out what actually went wrong.
For instance you said you were using MSV70 and MSV80 to try.
It's possible you used the wrong engine control unit file for your engine and wrote to the memory.

I'll for sure keep you guys updated. What do you think is the likelyhood that hardware would need to be replaced?

It all depends on the shop how good they know how to code and use the BMW coding software. If you just brought it to any Indy shop that just installs things, change oil, you need to take it out ASAP and bite the bullet and take it to thE dealership

They claim to be able to do 98% of what the dealership can do and have an autologic unit. Does that instill confidence? I don't know what an autologic unit is capable of.

Couple weeks ago I was going through INPA and I could have sworn that you can register and activate the battery with it. I saw battery reading and a menu to activate. I have to check on it
