I have been told the same thing by BMW of Columbia, SC, Chapel Hill, NC and others. That said, I have been quoted 3 different prices for the same EVP plans and Maintenance plans.

Hi all. Looks like ill be in the same boat in a few months when my warranty comes to a close. I was at my dealership and they printed up a quote for me.....
2009 335 xdrive coupe M-sport Premium Cold weather Idrive 6-speed manual 60M/100k power train: $2100 60M/100k gold : $3000 60M/100k platinum: $3340 72M/100k power train: $2440 72M/100k gold:$3560 72M/100k platinum: $3980 84M/70k power train: $2500 84M/70k gold: $3660 84M/70k platinum: $4100 84M/100k power train: $2720 84M/100k gold: $4040 84M/100k platinum: $4530 So far in the 4 years of ownership, I'm just under 29k. I'm looking to need the car for at least 2 years. I'm thinking of going with the 84M/70k given my driving time. But I can't decide if the platinum is a good buy or not. As I said I have idrive but I'm really not as concerned about my navigation going bad as I am about something mechanical. Firstly, are these prices above fair? Has anyone seen better prices for a comparable car? Secondly, should I just save the $500 bucks and go for gold or spend it and go for platinum?

Smokin Deal
Got quoted $3250 from Passport BMW for 7/100 Platinum on 335i.
Also, be forewarned: Some shady dealers are spouting that on Apr 1, BMW NA raised prices and also changed the pricing structure on EVP to be based on what your current mileage is. The guy from Passport said it was BS and that Prices from BMW NA usually go up in June or on July 1st. Hmmm, I wonder why 2 dealers said the same April 1st BS though??? Maybe they were both Autonation dealers??? |

I have 46k already and I do not live in Maryland. The story I got from pacific bmw was that he would sell 7/100 platinum to me for $3100 if my car had less than 10k mi. Really? The quote then became $3480. Still better then what you are getting it sounds like though.

$3250 from Passport BMW, $3480 from Pacific BMW. Pacific and one other dealer claimed that there was an April 1st price hike and that the pricing structure (from BMW/NA he purported) was now based on mileage under 10k or over 10k. Anyone else been told this nonsense?

These prices don't seem that great for low mileage drivers like myself. I'm about to be 4 years/20,000 miles on my 2010 335i coupe. I've been debating extending the warranty on my 4 year in service anniversary....However, I can't see paying almost $4,000 for a 7 year/70,000 warranty. It's really only getting me 3 years of coverage, because I'll most likely be around 35-40k miles, tops.
With prices on turbos and HPFP going down, I'd need a lot to go wrong to justify $4,000 for 3 years of coverage at my extremely low mileage. More likely, I'll need it after 7 years when my mileage starts increasing. |

BayMoWe335- It sounds like you would greatly benefit from the 7/70 plan (I've seen quoted as low as $2900 platinum, $2440 gold or $1880 powertrain plus). Whereas, with my higher mileage 335i(46k and only 3 yrs in service), 7/100 will get me another 4/50 and is the only option. Good luck!
