Help with oil smoke

I read all the threads but nothing pertains to me.
I left the Bmw driving experience on Friday and got 1st place in the autocross out of 100 people in the hybrid cars which was fun and on the way home I notice a lot of smoke and it was just cruising. It's oil smoke and yes I did the valve cover gasket already when it was pissing oil everywhere about 4 thousand miles ago. But now it's just smoke at idle and more when you get into boost. No signs of oil on the exterior like when the valve cover shit the bed. And when I do roll on the throttle it bucks hard.
Any ideas I should check, no codes when I scanned it too...

Stock ccv set up or are you running a catch can?

Take the oil cap off and see if it still the smoke improves.

I'm thinking it's fuel related but I found out my Dre does not recognize faults cause I unplugged various sensors and no cel or codes reading. But bpc is sending me an updated tune. So I hope it helps me diagnosing my smoking and hesitation on acceleration...

My updated tune will be here tomorrow but I just checked my oil and the level is higher than it was before the smoking.
So I'm guessing I got an injector that's bad...

Got my dde back from bpc. Now my car stores dtc's, drove it around and rolled on the throttle the car stalled when it went into boost. Scanned it and it read 4B99. Tried to research that code but not really enough info out there.

I think that’s a code for Injectors, bank 2 activation.

You are the winner, looks like the few random post I found were one of the injectors on the second bank shorted out.

I’m not sure what the code means though. How do the Injectors look? Any rust or corrosion on the connections?

See page 226.

Before you start taking things apart check each injector’s resistance. It should be 181kOhm +/- 10. But you can do it from the DDE side. Just unhook the battery, get to your DDE and it’s a connector with all the twisted pairs I think they are brown wires with a coloured stripe. Test on matching colour stripe between the two wires. I used two needles to stick in the connector and measure between those. Eliminate injector resistance and then go from there. Could be a short in the harness as well.

Also check each pin to ground... Banks share a power wire, a grounded inj takes the bank out. X5 has this issue when water leaks onto inj 5 or 6... happened to me last year.

Should be way above 200k ohm iirc on both pins to gnd, compare to an injector in bank 1

When I unplugged the injectors it had fluid inside the connection. Don't know if water or fuel cause I used brake cleaner and blew them out.

I vote for water. Oil is a pretty good insolator and diesel is a light oil. Only problem is the spec resistance is lower than water by itself. Normal unfiltered water is in the 300k range if ions in it. Well filtered water closer to 1meg range.

Ran the numbers for 300k in parallel with 181k.
Req=R1*R2/(R1+R2)= (300*181)/(300+181)= 112k ohm
Yep, that dog ‘ill hunt.

Looks like you need your injectors 6 and 5 replaced. They are under spec. What does ISTA show for values?

That rating for between pins can be in spec but it can have a ground... My number 5 was like that, around 20k to ground on one pin but 180k between pins.
Number 6 was bad both ways, lol
