bottom of the idrive screen there is a "TI" icon to the left of the RDS and to the right of the cell signal...any ideas, i can't find it in the book

It means Traffic Information is turned on, and you will see info if your local providers are offering it.

do you have to program radio stations that have traffic info on them or does it auto scan?

It is automatic and only shows if your area in fact do have TI service...

It's completely automatic. (Assuming you have it turned on)

thanks...it does work just as you all said, this morning on the drive to work it showed all the traffic alerts...pretty cool. But "TI" was what was really bugging me...thanks for answering
