BS.. messed up sensor or a warped pad... Not because of wear, if it is then its excessive.. I drive it like I stole it and I am at 12k miles and it says I still have 6k or so before I need new pads.

Do you allways slam on the breaks for every stop light and stop sign?? I'm going to have to agree with Andrew on this one with it being a faulty sensor.

Not a new record, I had my light come on at 1500 miles. This has happened to a lot of people. Just need to get your sensors reset or replaced.

its actually faulty programming. my car at like 1100 miles said i needed new rear brakes. I came in and watched them reprogram and reset and i left and it came back again at 3500 miles and they did the same and its been gone since. im at like 10k now. plus y brag about it, kinda lame.

Ok that makes me feel better, I just started laughing when the warning came on b/c of how crazy it was to wear through pads in that short amount of time.

Come to think of it, there was a squeaking noise from 500 miles to 3500 miles. Maybe its not squeaking anymore b/c the sensor got worn away?

They're not squeaking cuz they're not new anymore. Pretty much all performance brakes, when new, squeak.

Hated that on my e46. Not looking forward to the embarassing squeal when you pull up to a light with the new car.

I just got my car back from service for the same thing, though I'm at 10k miles and thought it really was the brakes. Just get your sensors replaced or reset by the service department and it should be fine.

My sensors were reporting 389,000 miles until brake service, and since the BC can only display 5 digit numbers, it threw the code. Sensors replaced and everything is fine, now I've got 20k left on front and rear pads!

I beat the piss out of all my 3's and the most i got was 19-20K miles. I also beat the hell out of my M Coupe 48,700 Miles later I got my front pads and rotors replaced even tho they were border line. And my rears still have 10K miles left on them.. M Brakes FTW!

12,000 mi. on my brakes and they squeak loud 0-10 acceleration, are noisy as crap when lightly on the brake at idle and also when the car slows below 10 mph they are noisy...really is annoying and my dealership found 'no problems' with my brakes. I should request new brakes and if it doesn't work or if it comes back, I want aftermarket brakes...

Since the light came on, does that mean it's covered under the maintenance?

Take it into the dealer, you dont need brakes yet. it could be as simple as a bad sensor, or as complex as a bad ABS control unit.
