West Speedtraps & cams don't show up - I'm in Calgary,Alberta

Strange how the East disk shows traps in E Canada but having difficulty locating anything here in W Canada - any feedback from my Canadian buds?

Then I realized my Nav screen was set in French and I should give it a try in English. Voilą ! Police trap are there.
And I can even switch back in french, icons remains on the screen ;-)

Good to know. Might be similiar in Spanish in case the menu was not translated either.

Good to know, I also use the French nav (for my wife of course..) I will be installing the east disk later today.

Seems like my DVDs didn't work
I got an 2011 E91 ( pre 09/2010) I put the dvd in the drive and nothing happened. Do I need to do something to trigger the update?

Does my car also have a USB port in the glove box? I looked but wasn't sure if there's supposed to be one, so I gave up looking after a few minutes.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You have the CIC version, not the older CCC iDrive. Those disks won't do anything for you.

Mike, Your Nav is on a hard drive in your BMW. Not DVD based. So a DVD will not work in your car.

I have the CCC version, 2007 328xi with I drive.

Hey folks... so sweet that this is available. So I downloaded the standard non cam version, burnt to disc, and popped it into the drive (West first)..... it started spinning up... used the i drive know to go to navigation... it says "Insert DVD Navigation" but the disc is already in! What is the proper install process for this? I put the original 07 disc back in and it worked like a charm... so I have to be missing some critical installation step?

Don't know about 2012, but for previous versions, selecting a low burn speed has been the cure. 1-2x speed should be good. Then when you turn on your ignition the iDrive system detects the new disc and tells you to turn of the ignition again and wait for 5 minutes. Then it should work

So now what do I do???? Is there a DIY for this?

Total newbie...I'd pay the $200 for the disks but I want the speed cams and lights. I was able to download a file called "BMW_Nav_East_2012.1_Cams.rar.torrent" 14 kB on my family's iMac (which I never use, but it has a DVD burner).

So now what do I do??????

Thanks in advance for pointing me to the newb site!

Edit: I just downloaded the BitTorrent app for the Mac, ran the program and seem to be downloading and uploading with 2 (3) seeds and 2(4) peers. It looks like something is working. Am I guessing correctly that I should go find a DVD to burn after downloading the file?

I popped it in the nav and it worked. I played for a minute with speed traps, it read disc error, I ejected and put it back in, I tried places to eat and drink, it showed up places down the street. So if there are any glitches (strictly my error of course) I will know more as I use it. As far as the op links, they probably are good as well, I'm just too dumb to figure it all out as it is all new to me with this stuff. i never learned it cause I never needed things like this.
So all and all, thank you, so far so good. I did the East Coast btw
I never got it working right. Any suggestions??

I downloaded imgburn and it took it from there. I used a dual sided dvd although I got the message before burning it saying it didn't require it but I still went with it anyway. So far it's all good, I haven't really tried navigating with it yet. Maybe I should when I go home just to make sure it's all ok. Highways are red, so when I get near junctions, it's not all that easy to see the different highways.
I did the non camera one.
