Wait - the car is up on jacks? I'd be willing to bet there is a level sensor in there somewhere. Put the tires back on and see what happens.

There is a level sensor.....and you know what. With the suspension extended, the car may think it's moving because of the out of spec reading.
OP, did you tell the dealer you had the car on jack stands? |

If that's the case it should not matter. I have the SmartTop controller. Attempted everything with it both activated and deactivated and still nothing. SmartTop enables top activation up to 25mph. Quote:
Perhaps I'm biased because it's my car but I feel the issue at hand warrants them all... |

Have you fully removed the smarttop controller - I had an issue with mine where it would not close sometimes, would just be stuck, seemed to be ok once I was moving and hit a few bumps like there was a slightly loose connection on the smarttop or something, even though I could communicated with the smarttop and turn it on and off. Removing the smarttop completely solved the issue, called them and sent it in for programming and never had another issue with it.
You might want to try moving the car around a bit and see if a little movement get's things going again and also try it with the smarttop fully removed.

I agree. This is very interesting! I'm curious to see what happens when you take it off the stands. I also wanted to agree with the resident engineer in that the car now needs to know that the top is in position "zero" to resume automated functions. Much easier done with a soft-top that you can manually put down.

Guys, me and AMASIAN got the top working. We tried to reset the CTM module with INPA but didn't had correct files. Nevertheless the roof started to work again .

Somebody gave me the true and good advice to not desperatly seek an amateur programmer. I agree to the full extent of their comment. Let me just say, THIS GUY IS NO FUCKING AMATEUR. Indeed! Unfortunately, the dealer said if I want to keep my warranty, I have to reverse my Targa Top mod. Boring old hardtop convertible again... To everyone who contributed, thank you very much for your ideas, suggestions, put-downs, advice, and support. ONEBADMOFO really, sincerely, saved the day for me. I'll be down in NY this summer and this man has earned dinner on me! |

Very good.
Reading his post I couldn't really understand what files he was talking about. I'm just curious to understand whether it was a faulty switch or the software was FUBAR'd and needed an "out-of-the-ordinary" input to make it work. As in, lying to the controller about what it needs to see to start moving. If you'd let me know, I'd be very grateful. Just a professional deformation - I don't own E93. Thanks.
