I was looking to get a remote start installed due to recent weather! 4 out of 4 shops I called refuse to do our cars! I know its a little more complicated than most cars, but does anyone here know how to do it and will do mine for me for a fee? Text me **************.

Its possible with these cars bit not recommended. You will surly encounter hurtles passing the vehicle identification code from your FOB to a remote starter and back to your car.

If you are able to get it done in an efficient manner please let us know what you did.

I know its cold but stop being lazy or buy a chevy to remote start.

It's not being lazy. It's called convenience. And there IS a way. It requires the use of a second key to be in the car, or use of the chip from the key. That's why I'm asking for someone who knows how. This isn't a discussion thread....

doesn't that pose a theft risk if there is permanently a key in the car?

Not too sure about the exact price but Viper remote starters usually are $ 250 - 800 range (Depending on the model) & then installation.

Viper with the iphone app is close to $1200 installed. That quote was going back at least 6 months.

Its a great convenience...just kinda sucks my wifes ONSTAR app is far superior to any BMW app and her car came standard with remote start and MSRP of $32k
