Very cool stuff. Have you done any testing with it, Harold?

Sold a few sets.

This is the first in-house install with upgraded Swift springs. The buyer, a 1addicts.com member will be doing a review on it.

There is no question Ohlins is one of the top notch damper builders out there. The performance of this Road and Track kit should be at the same level as the AST 5100s.

No real testing. Just installed with upgraded Swift springs 6kg front and 12 kg rear rates. Car rides so smooth, better than anything else I have experienced at this type of rate. Koni and KW can't even touch it. AST is usually on the firmer side with this rate. If I didn't tell you this car had a coilover system, you would never have noticed driving the car on streets or at least not until you take a few corners with it. If you are looking for better than stock ride with improved handling performance, this is it! The DFV technology works, I felt the difference.

Guys with gf and wife riding in or drive the car this is for you! Putting make-up on in this car while moving is not an issue at all. No more lips stick on the chin or nose.

For the HPDE and weekend track guys, this is still an entry level monotube system so don't expect go-cart like handling out of the box. Some custom rate springs and proper tuning of damper settings can further improve this already excellent coilover system.

I see they are wife and GF approved...what about mother approval???

Harold,

Did you get a chance to try them rock stock, out of the box? Are the springs that come with them that inferior to the Swifts? What else was done to that 1er...did it have an M3 front sway and stock rear? That would explain the strong increase in rear spring rate...

Either way Harold, I think you can be expecting an order from me very soon.

That seems to be the consensus abouth the Dinan suspension kit and why I didn't go w/it.

Sounds like what I was trying to accomplish; this would have to wait for me now
Can you expect the same longevity w/these dampers as say Koni?
What's the range of height adjustment; how close to stock zsp ride height can you get?

Harold, at 6kg front and 12kg rear, do you think that rear subframe bushings are necessary for a street car?

HP may have have different results.
Yes, that is about right. Great adjustment range.

I expect these to last just as long as the Koni's. The built quality is superb.

12kg will be the limit. Anything higher you will need those M3 bushings for sure.

Harold,

What are the spring rates in lbs with this c/o kit?
Do your thrust sheets work with this kit?
Does this kit fit the M3 rear lower control arms or is it designed to work with oe?
Can you post the additional cost of switching to Swift springs on your website?

This is an oe setup, not a conversion kit as listed above.

Spring rates are also in the OP, converted it's 336 front and 400 rear.

Swift spring upgrade will run you $570(with HPA rear height adjusters) and I will toss in the $50 worth of thrust sheets.

I think this is a typo..

6Kg- 336
12kg- 672

Here is Swift's springs spec sheet.

Swift Coil Over Springs _Parts & Spec Sheet.pdf

Is this now the default spring rates you offer w you coilover setups?..b/c I did recall you use to recommend 392/784..last year

^ I was asking about the Ohlins springs that come with the c/o kit.
It states 60 N/mm front and 70N/mm rear (whatever that translates to in lbs).
If it's really 336 lbs F and 400 lbs R, that seems out of whack. That rear rate is softer than zsp rear springs
For the swift springs, Harold has been recommending 336F, 672R for primarily street driven cars.

That was the springs came with the Ohlins R&T kit. 6kg front and 7kg rear. In this particular setup on a 135i we went with 6kg front and 12kg rear.

So, the Ohlins dampers are able to handle the big increase in rear spring rate 672 v. 400?
