Everyone is talking about not being stupid and hurting others when he clearly said he was alone on the road.. and its not like this doesn't happen in Germany daily... but hey, it was a pretty reckless thing.

Cop says he clocked me at 130 comes back gives me two tickets one for reckless and the other for 100 in a 50.

I go to court with no lawyer and man up. judge asked me where I was goin so fast. Told him I seen the open road so I opened it up a bit and he laughed. Got the reckless dropped and the 100 in a 50 got dropped to a 80 in a 50. Grad total of 4 points and $400. guess I won

For those who say don't drive that fast and other the bs dont be hypocritical. I'm sure you didn't buy this kind of car to drive around like a Prius owner. I don't drive like this all time.
LOL I got a similar story. was coming back from concert in NYC and the second I crossed the state border into Mass apparently a state trooper was following me for 10 miles as I continued my driving at 100+ miles give or take if there was turn or a car in front of me. Long story short he got me for excessive window tinting, no front license plate and the speeding which he wrote down was 110+ in a 65. Lucky your stuff got reduced, judge made me pay. Nonetheless I take this all as a good laugh and memories in the end.
Yep just another story tell when your putting a couple beers with your boys.

If you want to drive like that take it to a track. There is no need for that on a public road.

I am impressed at your ability to man up and own the situation. Too many people get on here and bitch about getting caught doing things they know they shouldn't.

Texas has an 85mph speed limit on some interstates. I suppose there I would be tempted to go faster as long as I could see for miles and no other traffic.

You will need to bring a big check book with you!

If you are not associated with the DOD for ( tags and gas ) the cost to own and operate a car with 300hp in Germany is very expensive! Premium fuel prices today; 1.59L = Euros 3.79L = 1 gal = 6.03 Euros @ 1.3609 = $8.21gal If you can get on base fuel, Premium $3.82gal.

Not sure about the cost to get a car registered and inspected on the economy, but the more HP the more it cost, I think!

Again, how do you KNOW you are alone on the road? Was it a closed road with controlled access?

Even though the likelyhood of someone else being on the road is low it is still possible. The consequences of this risk being realized is enormous. It is like playing Russian Roulette, you will get the bullet eventually.

And as far as it happening all the time in Germany, that may be true. It is also true that the people who drive in Germany are used to this type of driving and are subject to the much stricter rules of driving there.

Just try to keep the 9 year old's brains across your windshield in mind when you decide to be foolish and reckless.

For the price of the ticket, could've just got yourself a Valentine 1.... WITHOUT the 4 pts on your record.

Ouch, no thanks. Now that I have my V1, I don't see how I can possibly drive (and enjoy) this car without one.

If you are the only car on a deserted road how is a V1 or any radar detector going to help you?

The only thing I could see working is a Laser jammer, and even then you need to act cool enough under pressure to slow down and turn it off to let the cop get a reading within a few seconds.

If I'm wrong here please let me know and I will go out and buy a V1 and get it hardwired, I just don't see the point though.

Our V1's don't give us adequate warning if a cop turns on conventional radar after he/she sees us speeding OR if he/she uses LIDAR pointed directly at our cars. In both cases, we will hear our V1's at the same time the cop gets a reading of our speed.

People who wants to test the limit of their car should go to the "track" regarding how much you paid for your car. It just plain stupid doing such thing in public roads. If you can't afford couple bucks to go track.... you should be ashamed for owning a 50k-60k car. Below are the reasons why you shouldn't speed even in public road.
1) Even if you are alone on the road, you may cause an accident by yourself. To clean up that mess, tax payers have to pay for it.
2) You may die and be on the news and be remembered as the "dumb fucking ricer"
3) Obey the law

They say your immature or young because only immature idiots believe it is save to drive at these speeds on public roads. It takes 1 deer or one other car to come onto the road for this to turn into a tragic story.

If you want to test the power of your ultimate driving machine you can take it to a track. You drive a 60K car so you can afford to pay for track time -_-

You say be safe and not reckless. If you are driving at these speeds on a public road you are being reckless and very unsafe.
