M-Sport or M3 heated steering wheel?

I have a 2011 335D with sport pack and a heated wheel. It's not bad, but I really prefer the M-Sport or M3 wheels as they're thicker and have a more comfortable shape. However my wheel is heated and I'd hate to loose that. I can't seem to find any M-Sport or M3 wheels that are heated... were they ever available? Or are there other similar "sport" wheels that do some with heating elements?

I've done some looking into this as well and it seems that the M-Sport wheel from the Z4 (e89) is heated and is a straight swap.

Would a swap from a different chassis like that require a reprogramming?

I gave up my nice heated steering wheel on my last car for an M-sport wheels on this one, and I have to say I don't miss the heated wheel one bit

If I could get one like this that was heated, I'd go for it. Need to do some research...

I don't have a definitive answer, but I *think* it wouldn't need anything done from what I've been reading. The e89s and e82s are based on the same platform and most of their coding is pulled from the same data source. The e89 wheel you linked a photo of has all the same controls as the sport e90 wheel, so it should theoretically be a plug and play swap.

For example, I've seen people pulling a wheel from an f30 which does require some retrofit work due to different controls on the wheel.

I love my M3 steering wheel, but miss the heated wheel it replaced.
