Coilover Ride Height Measurements
I thought we should create a new informational thread that lists actual measurements on the car of the coilover systems available today for the E9x cars.
I measured the TCKline coilovers today. With a 7", 60mm spring and the collars at 3/4" from the bottom threads, the car ride height from center hub to fender lip is 13 3/8". There is approximately 2.5" of thread on the strut tube and about 2.0" of usable thread with the double collars. From this point, you can lower the car another 3/4" and raise it 1 1/4" higher, so the min and max ride height with 7" springs is 14 5/8" high, and 12 5/8" low. With 6" or 8" springs add or subtract one inch to these heights. Can someone do the same for the PSS9's, KW's, Tein's, H&R's, etc.? Here is a pic: |

Bump...
It's the weekend. Only takes ten minutes to do this. I am sure anyone interested in a coilover kit would appreciated the info. For consistancy, please use the same method of measurement and post a similar angle pic. Thanks for all your help. |

bump! this is very useful information for those wanting to upgrade suspension. IMO suspension upgrade should be the first things you mod instead of power....what happens when you got all that power and your car can't handle worth a lick??
This info will help alot of those interested in suspension work so come on people, get out there and measure! |

Yes, we need a table with the different coilover options and key data like ride height, price, adjustments, spring rates, general comments on ride and handling. Mark has a stickie that is a great start.

+1 on the spring rates everyone is running....I am leaning towards recommended 450F/450R spring rates if I finally pull the trigger on the TCKline's. Just curious what everyone else is running and their impressions with their rates?
