So how much difference does the BMS powerbox make?

So for those who have installed a bms powerbox, how much difference does it really make in terms of driving performance? Can you really feel the difference?

IMO definitely worth to give it a shot, esp for the price. Not sure on actual power gains. But definitely makes my 323 more enjoyable to drive...

What is a BMS powerbox about? How many horsepowers does it increase?

I would say its definitely a big improvement for throttle response, but I dont feel much of HP or Torque gain though.

definitely a big improvement in throttle response. It makes my 323 feel like a young car now as oppose to an old man. You will feel a big difference. No idea on stats.

installed mine today... took about 3 hrs as I did it myself... there was a improvement in the throttle response as you don't get any hesitation anymore when the car first moves off. Car is more willing to hold on to gears now in auto mode rather then shift up and will now kick down without hesitation when applying the throttle instead of the slight lag that use to occur. This is my initial impressions after my first test drive.

Interesting, so bms removes that lag (that always bothered me) in acceleration. But is the acceleration really more immediate? Anyone tested the difference in 0-100 time before and after bms installation?

Can't say there was a noticeable increase in bhp and torque but the throttle is definitely more responsive now.

Some advice for those attempting to install themselves, on the downloadable instructions provided by BMS, it mentioned the drivers side sensor can be lifted off but on my 08 HK Spec E93 323i, the sensor is clipped to a holder on the cowl that is bolted on to the cowl itself. The only way that I could see to remove the sensor is to unbolt the holder from the cowl using a Torx screwdriver. As I did not have the right screwdriver to take out the holder, I had to leave the cowl inside the engine bay with the driver's side sensor still on. This still provided me access to the ECU, but I had to be careful the cowl did not fall out of the engine bay and then tugging along the drivers side sensor with it. Other than that, the instructions provided for the installation is pretty clear and straightforward as long as one is careful. One final point (but very minor IMO), the ECU is located on the right side of the engine bay (and not left as shown on the instructions). This is likely due to the car being RHD instead of LHD (since the instructions are predominantly based on US spec vehicles).

Finally got my Powerbox installed. Difference is felt immediately and as mentioned, the "lag" is gone and the car feels "lighter". Really good value for money.

So far so good for me man... No complaints.
Most "bang for your buck"
Order it online and you'll get it in about 3-5 days

I've been using it for a month now and I still love it.

I noticed a slight increase in fuel consumption but this could be attributed to my heavy foot. I love the feel of the acceleration...!
