Meth numbers...
I was thinking about installing a meth kit to go with my JBD. Any idea of power increase with this setup? What kit would work best? I remember hearing there were a couple for the d.

I have read anywhere from 50-70 hp gains, that said I also read if you want to use the CHEAPO meth use winshield wiper fluid. YES. you read that right. Snow Performance has universal intsallation kits @ $500 a pop and moves on to bigger stages, I beleive 50-70 gain is enough for our cars w JB or Flashes

Not sure about the gains, that depends on a lot of factors and I dont know enough about it to wager a guess at our flow numbers.
The kit that Burger sells that is JBD specific goes for the price on their site for the cheapest methanol kit, unless you want to add goodies. I went with a windshield washer bottle install and I use 50/50 mix in it |

all stock everything except the JBD and meth, down to the tire pressures. This is with sport package wheels and tires. I never ran without the meth but I did not notice a huge difference when I installed it, mostly that the power continues to deliver stronger at higher RPM than just JBD

that meth adds HUGE gains that's 1 sec faster in the 1/4 than my car with reflash. at least this is a projected time considering i consistently run a 9 sec 1/8 @ 80mph with reflash. with meth that thing has to be pushing 400hp

I don't think so, you can't just compare my 1/4 and your projected 1/4. 1 second in the quarter is a big gain that you can REALLY feel on the butt dyno, the methanol just didn't have that effect. I would estimate maybe 2-3 tenths at best. Your 13.9 is way too close to stock, something was up with that run. I know the numbers from that run lined up and made sense so it wasn't the driving but something else. I might go back in the next couple week so to satisfy everyones interest I'll run one with the methanol off.

No, you can use wiper fluid, but only from some parts of the country, probably not vegas. In colder areas of the country they mix water and methanol to keep fluid from freezing, somewhere around 30%meth/70%water.

Well I guess it doesn't matter now since I was informed today that Terry doesn't produce a meth kit for diesels anymore. Now I have to find one that will work on my car with the JBD. :|

From Terry:
"Hi Jeremy, We're no longer supporting 335d meth kits. Not enough volume there to justify the product. Sorry but we won't be able to help you with that." And then... "Sorry for the confusion. We don't actually offer anything on the meth kit front. But meth is compatible with the 335d. Try aquamist perhaps on that." I found a BMS WW kit with a $140 upgraded pump head for $350, but it is for a 335i. Different fuel controller. That's the missing part I can't find. The Aquamist is like $800. |
