Is this setup intended primarily for the E91 because of the wagon body? Or could this all be directly applied to the E90 as well?

It sounds like the front did great with the drop but the rear not so much? I'm not expecting a major drop with my E90 xdrive, but I want it to be noticeable. I'm not quite ready to go the coilover route either. The write up on this makes it extremely appealing as a daily driver.

The e90 and e91 are different springs. You need to look up the European PN's for the e90 with Eibach.

Ok I'm not asking if E91 springs can be used on an E90. I'm asking in general terms if all of the same components that were replaced/installed on your E91 would have the same result on an E90.

Hardly a dick response, but your question was vague, so I answered best as I interpret the question.

The suspension in the sedan/estate are functionally identical, there's just some weight differences in the chassis that account for the differences in rates, etc.

So yes, I'd d the same in a sedan. Just like we did for Dan's car a couple weeks ago. He seems VERY happy.

Thank You NinetyOne!! Been trying to sort out my suspension FOREVER with my XI e91. There are a lot of posts on people mounting FSD/Eibach, but many still complain of rake etc - as they have used the Eibach springs for the sedans, or for the RWD wagons. I will be ordering these from Germany now . Very excited to get them on.

For your shocks - did you get the Koni part #2100 4123?

That's the right Koni part number for xdrive but they are impossible to find in stock right now. According to Koni, the FSD product line is going through a transition period which will see all the FSD kits being discontinued.

The new generation of FSD Technology which is set to release and be available the end of April, early May and is known as their Active product line with FSD technology. The newer generation of the FSD feature and function remains the same. They said The most noticeable change that will come with the new Active line will be that the struts and shock will now be painted Red instead of gold as a homage to the original KONI Special shocks.

The struts and shocks will also become available for purchase individually or as front/rear pairs, instead of only as a kit of four. The part numbers for the individual dampers will be 8745 1234L&R for the front, and 8245 1015 for the rear.

Good luck. It looks like they may be slightly less expensive than the 2100-4123 kit.

I placed an order for the 2100-4123 kit which was delayed and delayed. Once I reached out to Koni, they shared that info. I'm hoping to get my shocks from koni in a couple of weeks. European Eibachs are sitting in the basement, waiting for the Konis to arrive.

I have a Tirerack backorder for the 2100-4123 kit that I have a feeling will never arrive. Price was good though (USD$588).

Decided to cancel the Tirerack order after I called in and they revised their ETA to June.

Found the new set listed on Bavauto and ordered a set for $535. So newer, and a bit cheaper. They claim "Typically ships in 5-10 days." but I'll believe it when I see it.

Quick update. The fronts (8745 1234L/R) were in stock and I have them now, but looks like the rears (8245 1015) are now ETA in early July.

So both Koni and Bilstein options for xDrive are basically impossible to get right now.

So resurrecting an older thread and the questions are for the OP @NiNeTyOne who seems both experienced and practical. I am a novice at all this and seeking knowledge for improvements.

I drive a 2009 328xi at 86K miles. Its a daily driver. I am in need of new rear shocks and now would like to upgrade the suspension. I dislike the stock responsiveness and the harshness over rough New England roads. So the Koni FSD (now Special actives) seem to be the right damper.

Its been a couple years since you made the upgrade.. any regrets or thoughts?
Seeing that this is a daily and Im not so concerned about rake, or gap etc... Do you think these will work well with the stock springs?

I am contemplating the Euro-eibach pro-kit as well as the strong flex. poly bushings for upper rear shock mount as well as thrust bushings up front. I saw some other posts that make additional recommendations on other components like bump stops, shims, spring cups., end links etc..
If I pull the trigger on springs what else is recommended to replace at this mileage?
What is your recommendation on the timing of the additional components? With initial upgrade... after settling etc..?
